Here we go again , why do people have to dissect every thing , just to prove to them selves they are right , The Apple re seller Ive been in contact with , has told me they don't have a large display of mac's and they don't have an internet connection, they do have two Mobile phone numbers that the staff use , this store is a semi rural store, I could make my trip a little longer and fly into Bangkok to check out a larger store . If wanting to check out the Apple imac in store first is considered '' picky '' then so be it, and as for .......

Well if I lived in a remote part of Cambodia I probably wouldn't be buying a 24" iMac

I don't really know what to reply , may be I should not have bought my new Samsung LDC TV, which by the way I did ask the store to switch on , so I could .. check it out first , before I took it home :D

Some times I really wished I lived in another country where Good Customer Service and after sales care were the norm, but alas I don't .

May be i'm asking too much just to be able to ask some simple questions of forum members here ...? with out having my questions being put under a microscope.

Here is a question that you should maybe ask yourself. What happens if you travel the 3 days to get to this store and there is a slight bleed through on the screen, barely noticeable, or a stuck/dead pixel so miniscule that you have to put your face on the screen to see it, etc...

Are you just going to travel back 3 days with nothing or are you just going to live with those flaws? Since this store supposedly only has one 24" in stock.

I think your best bet is to go on Ebay and purchase one there from someone that has positive feedback and has sold many Macs before. As long as you use Paypal and pay for the shipping to Cambodia and insurance I think it's a much better solution to your problem. At least reputable sellers on Ebay have decent return policies if you do have a problem.

Red, don't listen to all those spoiled retards that give any question to what you do and how you want to do it.

Just choose what suits you best.
Also the idea that they have only 1 iMac in store is a bit scary i have to agree.
Maybe you should jump somehwere with a larger store or go ebay like somebody suggested.

Hi , Thanks for the comments and advice, its appreciated . Ive now been thinking over my approach to the buying of my first iMac, and may be its better if I fly into Bangkok, and find the largest Apple Store I can, to try out an iMac , and hopefully if there's an apparent problem there and then with the iMac on test, the larger store will have more back up stock . I am sure a large Bangkok Apple store will also have an internet connection . Also I will make the trip a holiday , so may be stay in the Bangkok area for a week , which should give me some time to take the iMac back to the hotel and try a few things out , before returning back home.

Hongkong is not far away from Bangkok, also has several large Apple stores.
