Good thinking. Interesting that Apple said no especially as they want your market. Suggestion: if there was a reason why you wanted the pro try to do that with the Air in the meantime. For example, I want the pencil again to draw, but in deciding to wait I've begun to draw/doodle traditionally in the interim to stave that desire.

Right there with you in wanting a new Pro.
I'm honestly not too disappointed there's been no announcement, despite people saying it's junk and a gen 1 product the Pro is actually a gen 11 iPad. Apple had 7 years to perfect the screen quality, touch sensors, fingerprint scanner, CPU and GPU integration... in short, the iPad Pro may be the first large iPad, but it uses the same things as other iPads save for the pencil.
I'm looking forward to an update for sure, but let's face it, the iPP is still the most powerful tablet on the market and does it's job like a pro (pun intended) The A9X CPU and GPU are beasts. I can wait another 6 months or year for an announcement as this sucker is still an amazingly great piece of tech.

The guy said yah I would just lie about the date but he couldn't since it's a law. I'm thinking "okay but who is really checking this" other then the computer just looking at the date entered and denying it if it's below 18

My biggest reason for waiting: I want to be sure whatever iPP and Mac I get next are truly simpatico with each other (a la rumors last week.) Now I do not argue both of the existing iPPs will be supported for years down the road and they is perfectly fine now, but I can wait.

Lol, it's very far from the most powerful tablet. It does allot right for sure. iPad Pro is Best in its class, which is phone OS, light and super portable . But it's very far from the more powerful wintabs on the market.

Best touch sensors-heck yeah. It's a premium device. But the Pencil and palm rejection fall very short of other devices, and are first gen features.

I Can't wait for the update, I'm praying for more ram, and a better Pencil experience. 4gb ram is low for content creation. Many paintings I do on my MSP16 will not open on my iPad Pro. I can't stand the Pencil for many reasons. It might be better than ntrig, but that's not saying much. I'm Ready to ditch gen 1 Pencil asap.

It's Going to be a tough choice for me though, the Samsung galaxy book with Wacom emr and full windows will probally be much more capable for my needs. I really want the best stylus I can get and running full design software on mobile will be a huge performance advantage for me.

Exciting times, I'm glad there are so many quality options on the market,

Buy it!

Then everyone here will laugh at you when Apple launches the next iPad Pro with 8GB of RAM and makes iOS 11 have features that work only on iPads with at least 4GB of RAM, like being able to drag/drop/annotate directly/file system access.

Then you'll stare at your older iPad Pro sadly while everyone around you has the latest iPad Pro and doing all kinds of cool stuff.

Typed on a 12.9" iPad Pro that will get the latest iOS 11 features unlike you.

I had a similar doubt about buying one, ending up finding a second hand one still under warranty. I figured I could upgrade when I new one is announced, without losing quite so much then.

That's one of the benefits of being young... you can afford to wait. :) When you're my age, every day counts because you don't have as many left and none to waste. :p

Yeah, same too once you start working! You won't have that much time but only have issues to deal with!

The income flow is useful though ;)

Always waiting for that mystery next gen device. It's always coming the next event; even when it doesn't come out on the next event, it's coming out the next event ;)

They told me to wait when I was about to buy a 12.9 in November. Wanted it for similar reasons as you. So glad I bought it.

So nothing has been announced on the new ones and well I am losing it over here, I just want to the Pencil for my class notes, I guess if I don't really use my iPad for anything intense, should I even worry about the A9X being a year old chip. My biggest concern buying the Pro is iOS 11 gets unveiled and the Pro wont support all its new features, mainly due to 2 Gbs of ram, is that enough, they have had 2Gb of ram now for awhile and I feel like it will become a performance issue within the next year. Or Im just way to paranoid. If I don't use my iPad for more than web browsing, Netflix, RSS reader, and PDF's/notability would the current Pro fulfil the needs for awhile, like at least 4 years.

You can get it now until new one is released you are free to to sell your old one.

Man I wish I could make the iPad work for me. I want to use it as my primary writing/blogging device, but it doesn't seem like there's too many tools to publish content the way I want.

That's really strange because there are Aton of writing/markup/publishing apps on the AppStore, what's the main issue writing or getting something published

It seems like publishing something to like a blog or website is hard to do without also having a PC. Is there anything that lets you direct push to a website?
