When you see a 27'' bezel-less display and the 27'' iMac back to back playing a YouTube video the iMac seems grotesque to be honest.

I just couldn't live with those chin and bezels. Thats why I went for the mbp + acer h277hu combo. Plus there is the mobility factor.

Personal preference - I don't mind the chin and the bezel does fade into the background when I use my iMac. I don't even notice them

I feel the same way. macOS is beautiful with small bezels. I went to Best Buy a few months ago with the plan to purchase a 27" iMac because I love the 5K screen. I had the salesman bring it out, but when it come time to swipe my card I changed my mind. I just couldn't do it.

I currently have a 27" screen with thin bezels and the 27" iMac really seems antique in comparison. The chin makes the screen start too high up and really needs to go completely away. I hope they have a solution for us this year.

Interesting, if anything I find the iMac too short. Could really use an adjustable height. I keep mine on a stand.

I like my eyes aligning with the top of the screen. When I previously had a 27" iMac my eyes come to the middle of the screen. (Well, my eyes may have aligned more like 3/4 of the way up. Still, too high for my taste. I'd prefer adjustable. Not everyone is the same height.)

Yup, mine needs to be on a stand for that height. I'd love to see them add some form of height adjustment.

I wouldn't even mind if it just came with a standard VESA mount and then Apple sold 3-4 different size stands.

The bottom bezel is great for post-it notes and stickers my kids give me! :D

I really don't notice the side bezels at all, just as I don't notice the black bars on a TV when a show is letterboxed. It all just fades away.

I have no problem at all with the current iMac design.

If they put out a new design I will be fine with it, but I think the current design looks fine in every covceivable way. iMac has always looked like that.

I have the money.. now I just need an update to the iMac. But the way the upgrades are so slow, I might actually consider maxing out a macbook pro and get a a big screen 4k screen instead.

Most of the latest ergonomic advice I have read confirms your preference.

I used to have my iMac much higher so that I was looking up at it much of the time. This causes your eyelids to be open wide and results in dry and tired eyes. I rebuilt my shelf so that now the top of the display is at eye level. After a month of having it this way, I no longer need eyedrops! Highly recommended.
