I also really miss it. I've had IOS 10 since release and I still try to slide to unlock. Years of muscle memory....no idea why they changed it.

Sad I know but you can always shut down your phone more often to experience the awesome slide-to mechanic!

They should have left it as an option. Doesn't bother me on my iPhone SE due to Touch ID but it was annoying when I had my iPhone 5. Also used to do my head in changing between the iPhone and iPad (2 on iOS9) but I got used to it. Drives me crazy at work though dealing with non Touch ID iPads.

For me it's less annoying on my iPhone than it is on my iPad (both with Touch ID). Just seems more natural for some reason on the phone, I'm guessing because that's where your figure naturally rests etc.

I have got used to not having slide to unlock, but really miss slide to turn off an alarm. Unless I am missing a way of getting it back, not a fan of the small button to turn it off.

Remember iPhone 6s and SE both have Rest Finger to open buried away in assessibility settings. I never click the home button on my 6S, just raise to wake and rest finger without pressing to unlock.

every time I open my ios devices I get reminded of the annoyance of the missing slide to unlock.

3 ios devices with 3 different home buttons. I really hate the press to open. also it keeps tipping over my ipads with apple covers when pressing.
Also when things go fast I still end up in panic... just pressing the button again and again.
dont understand why users were not given a choice between how to open. In stead I end up in fast message and widget menues... that I rarely use anyway... especially on ipad
I really miss the headphone jack....

Well.. u know the solution in the Apple eco system... Get used to it,,, and suddenly we'd be all wondering what we were worried about.

I had to get used it the changes to, now i'm ok with it..

I know it's not going to change anything, but add my name to the list of people who miss swipe to wake up.

Really miss it. My hands are sweaty and touchid does not always work for me
It would basically simply take just another press of the home button to get to the PIN entry screen, as opposed to a slide across the screen. Seems like one isn't really any more involved than the other.
