The video speaks for itself. I indeed hope Apple takes this stuff seriously and has made the necessary changes as a company that it needs to to ensure a smoother future hardware and software wise. I love Apple products. I am typing this to you on a brand new iMac Pro, and have been an avid Apple consumer for over 20 years. I want them to succeed. That is why I sincerely hope they listen and take videos like this seriously.

Just to save anyone from watching this unnecessarily...this is an Apple bashing video on 'how terrible Apple is'. If that's your thing then go right ahead and watch. The OP however declined to mention this, so I will.

And to the OP - I'm pretty sure Apple will carry on irrespective of this video.

I wouldn't say that. There are a lot of facts laid out chronologically, highlighting many Apple product issues over the years (that I sincerely hope Apple has learned from).

Right from the getgo the video lays into Apple. Any 'facts' it may have are weakened by the narrators words.

The first part of the video calls Apple a company that "routinely screws you". 'nuff said.
That is the opinion of the technician who made the video, and he is entitled to it given the circumstances. Doesn't change the facts. 'nuff said.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

You posted the video though. With no comments to boot. Ergo how are we meant to take it? The video is horribly biased which totally negates any chance it had to come across as a balanced argument.

And with that I'm out of here as I've no desire to get into an argument over this. I've said my peace so I'm done.

I agree that the video author used some pretty inflammatory words. And, unfortunately, that detracted from the message I think he was trying to convey - Apple charges a premium price for their products, so they should ensure premium quality and premium support. (and they don't)

I think that if he had not used harsh words - "screwing you", "murder", etc, his message would have gotten across without sounding like Apple bashing.

I know too little about Apple's products to comment on the accuracy of the issues he brought up in the video, but we can't totally deny that Apple has been negligent in terms of QA, when it comes to issues like the new butterfly keyboards, for instance.

And I say this as someone who is still running (and loving) a mid-2009 Macbook Pro. Not a hater or fanboy.

He is certainly entitled to his opinion (and I partly agree with him), but I think that if he had chosen his words more carefully, this could have come across very differently, and even the most ardent Apple fanboys would not dismiss it outright.

Using words like "screw you" and "murder" make anyone come across as less professional and less objective. Stick to the facts, and let the viewer of the video decide if they're being screwed or murdered.

Nope, don't put words in my mouth please
I did not say Apple was too puffed up to care

What I AM saying is this video is completely inconsequential and irrelevant to Apple
LOL, sorry this video is NOT irrelevant to Apple. It is all about Apple, and they should care. It is their history/present/future...

I'm no apologist for them myself. I think the MBP keyboard debacle is major screwup for them, and their PR department is gawd awful in how it handled the whole battery issue, but a video like this is wrapped up in so much anger that it totally obliterates any hope it had of making a reasonable point.

I agree with you, but unfortunately when some people feel very strongly about something they don't choose their words very thoughtfully or wisely.

Agree 100%. The presentation of information is just as important as the content. It can make a huge difference in how the content is received by an audience.

Right. And that is unfortunate in this case. Because, apparently, the author has a lot of experience and/or has done a lot of research on Apple products, so his information could potentially be very valuable, but like @TiggrToo said, it is lost on the viewer because of the way the information is presented.

Personally, I did get some valuable info from the video. I wasn't put off by the harsh words, and I watched it, and I do believe the author at least partially. But others may find it offensive so the overall impact the video has may not be as intended.

Again, I agree with you both. But I have the ability to separate myself from the techs "anger" and see the very valid points. Not only because I am tech too, but because I have personally encountered many of the long standing issues he was speaking about. I just really hope Apple is growing internally from an engineering perspective and that they do listen to things like this, no matter how inflammatory.

I agree with you here. And, I did do the same, and so was able to see the author's main message, which is that Apple's QA and support do not match up to the premiums they charge for their products. And, I kind of agree with it.

You and I were able to distance ourselves from the emotions of the video author, and see the message, but not all may be able or willing to do so.

I agree again. It is unfortunate that many a stance is taken in defense from a "fanboy" perspective which does nothing but do a disservice to Apple and its customers, because it does not hold their feet to the fire when they need to be. In the end that would make all of us Apple customers and "fanboys" happier because it forces Apple to be a better company and make better products. Snowball effect. It's sad more people cannot see that and instead so many jump to the blind defense of their "beloved" Apple.

Whenever anyone uses the word "ergo" I immediately think of The Matrix.

As far as the video, the author speaks with bias, but his examples and historical data seem to be factual. Not sure what bias you are talking about. He gave several examples of design flaws and disingenuous solutions offered by Apple. Should he have shown some of their clever designs from years past to make it less biased for you?

Within the first minute the video accuses Apple of 'routinely screwing you' (actual quote). If that's not biased then I'm not sure what is. The video could have simply laid the facts bare and remained objective. It didn't however and the OP, by supplying the video with zero comment, is therefore tarred with the same accusatory brush.

Absolutely valid points.

However, looking at the bigger picture, and if you imagine a big profit-hungry corporation (as most are) as a big greedy person, it is basic human nature at play. When you know you have celebrity status and are loved by most of the world, you are not going to readily admit your flaws, much less go about fixing them. You are going to exploit the powerful stance/leverage you have over your customer/fan base. That is what I believe is happening with Apple. On the one hand, it is wrong, but on the other hand, it's part of being a huge and hugely profitable business.

Personally, I am also not a huge fan of the direction they are going in, these days, and I also question their design decisions, esp. with regard to their laptops. If my mid-2009 MBP were to die and I were to be in the market for a new Apple laptop, I'd be between a rock and a hard place.

And yes, it would be better for all of us if people put aside loyalty, took an objective look at the products, and voiced their criticisms.
