Dark side of the moon
Within the first minute the video accuses Apple of 'routinely screwing you' (actual quote). If that's not biased then I'm not sure what is. The video could have simply laid the facts bare and remained objective. It didn't however and the OP, by supplying the video with zero comment, is therefore tarred with the same accusatory brush.

Like I said, the author speaks with bias, but his information and examples appear factual.

Not sure why you feel the OP should forewarn you regarding the tone of a video before presenting it for comment. If you can get past the biased commentary for a moment and listen to the facts and evidence he presents, you might understand what I am talking about.

Sorry, I refuse to do so because why should input any effort into rewarding an author who treats the subject matter with utter contempt? Like I say, I'm no fangirl - I love me my Series 3, 2015 MBP, Airpods, iPhone 7+ and iPad 9.7 Pro. That said Apple TV bores me, I don't see the point of the Homepod myself, I hate the mess they got themselves into with the keyboard on the newer MacBooks (and fully deserve the class action lawsuits that have started), feel their PR department needs to be fired (especially after the whole battery/slowdown debacle) and replaced with folks who have a clue, and personally feel that way too many of the "Genius"s out there would be better served flipping burgers than 'helping' customers.

Show me a video that simply states facts and just the facts and I'll watch it. However show me a video that either attacks Apple right from the start, or one that tries to convince me in the first minute that Apple is the best company ever - and I'll ignore them both because it's obvious from the start they both lack objectivity. And when you lack that, you lose.

Just wanted to say one last thing here. Not taking sides, but trying to be objective ...

I, personally, got the message in the video, but if I were an Apple exec or even an engineer, and I came across this video with the hope that there was some constructive feedback/criticism, I would immediately dismiss it because, in the first few seconds, the author says, "(You, Apple, are) screwing (your customers)". Personifying Apple ... no person likes to be insulted, and I would be put off by it, subsequently missing out on all the substance in the video (the facts about Apple's history of issues with products).

They say that the first few seconds of any presentation have a large impact on whether or not an audience gets hooked and stays interested in the presentation. It's like making a first impression on a date with someone. If you repulse or bore your audience in the first few seconds, you will have lost most of their votes for whatever you are advocating.

When managers pass on constructive criticism to their employees, it's a very delicate process ... the words chosen have particular importance and have a huge impact on how the employee takes the criticism. Psychology plays a huge part in this, I think.

The body of research and information provided by the author is impressive. But, for this video to have its intended impact on anyone at Apple who can make a difference, it will need some serious iMovie editing :D

You made a lot of very valid points in this post. However, just because the creator of this video didn’t frame it up just the way that you like doesn’t make his facts any less valid.

Lots of references to me in this thread!

Seriously people (broadly) fall into two camps.
People that love apple (fanboys) or people that hate apple (haters).

Truth is neither is very objective.

Apple are a great company. Their share price shows that.
However do I agree with all of their decisions and products? Not at all.
There software releases have become less stable over the years for sure. Have they had a few quality issues? For sure. But generally it's the way they deal with them that I like. Makes me come back for more.
Will I blindly buy everything they release? No. Just what fits my needs and lifestyle.

Fair enough. Good post.

Therein lies the problem then. Your saying Apple is too puffed up to care. And that is scary...

I don’t think it has anything to do with them being puffed up, but this video being so thick with snark, sarcasm, and rudeness that nobody should take it seriously. And no, I don’t and “passion” as an excuse because he recorded the video then edited it then looked at it again and said it was a good product to put up and show his viewpoints.

Also, calling the people that disagree with you fanboys is ridiculous at best.
