Are you running some different, special version of Classic? Most everything I have refused to start at all (and actually worked better - not much - under Sheepshaver!) MW2, Duke 3D, Myth I, Total Annihilation - all blecch. Only Civ II launched & was actually stable.

Nope, I'm just using the same version as everyone else. MW2 and Duke 3D don't work, you're right. I haven't tried Myth I, but it works with OpenGlide (AKA MacGlide), so therefore it must work in Classic. (Though you can get that working on OS X anyway, and likewise you can run Duke 3D on OS X.) Total Annihiliation works fine, however. Make sure you're using version 3.1.2b6.

Ironically, my version of Civ II doesn't launch at all. ;) Maybe your version of Classic is the opposite of mine. But seriously, about 85% of OS 9 games work in Classic. Sometimes you need to have a certain version of the game, though (I believe Civ II Gold is the version that works in Classic, which isn't what I have). It's possible you're just unlucky and have games mostly in the 15% that don't work, though as I mentioned TA definitely works and other people have gotten Myth I to work.

Edit: Just installed Myth I...it works. I do have MacGlide, but it should work without it, just not look as nice. This is version 1.3 from Myth: The Total Codex.

Sheepshaver lets you use OS9 apps...but you need access to a PPC Mac for the installation :)

Nope...all you need is an OS CD (either 8.6 or 9.0, though I think support for >9.0 might be implemented now).

I still have a PPC and don't plan on getting a new machine anytime soon. Blizzard has some good games you can play, all the WC, SC, Diablo games are good.
