I think Apple has taken the heat out of the Apple TV

They probably in the new OS upped the speed of the CPU fan to help it run cooler...

I didn't realize there was a fan inside.

I would not think of checking if it was not for this thread. Mine is for a few hours now and it definitely feels cooler than before. Oh and I don't hear a fan even when I am right next to it.

Just synced 14000+ photos and still not a noticeable temperature increase from this new lower normal temperature. I'm satisfied !

nah...hot still...I'd be pissed if it wasnt though...
I use tv to make microwave popcorn.....so I want it burning hot

We cut our heating bill 50% by mounting our Apple TV inside the heating ductwork.

Joking of course - I know my TVgets warm to hot, but as long as it plays well I do not concern myself with it.

There is no fan. The Apple TV is cooled by way of convection.

I leave mine on 24/7 and haven't really checked how hot it gets
