I've had a bunch of phones, lately a Galaxy S4, and Iphone 5S and a LG G2. I really like the G2. I want a phone that is at least equal or better than the G2. I was comparing the specs for the Iphone 6 to the G2, as much as we know.

The Ip6 will be about the same height and width as my G2 and be close to 2mm thinner. No actual weight has been found, but it should weigh significantly less.

The screen will be 4.7 as opposed to the 5.2 on the G2. If Apple bumps the resolution up to 1704x960, that is very close to the screen on the G2.

I was all set to buy the LG G3, but the screen appears to me to be kind of washed out and "dull". Probably personal as other people like it. But it is definitely not as bright and white as my G2 or my 5S.

So it does look like I just will wait for the Ip6 and get it. I'll miss the wireless charging from the G2, and the LED notification but will adjust quickly to the 4.7 inch screen.

The battery life will probably get me through a full day, same as the G2.

Apple: Take my money.

I have a Black/Slate 64GB iPhone 5 and I love everything about it, especially the fact that it came in black/slate.

I didn't move to the 5s because it didn't offer much over the 5 - and Apple didn't offer it in black.

I'm at the end of my two year contract, but based on all the pictures I've seen of the iPhone 6, if that's what comes out, I'll probably stick with my iPhone 5. Especially, if once again, Apple does not offer black.

Don't play hard to get, esp when you're living in the stone age without TouchID. :D

LOL! :)

Sorry, but, no. TouchID and a minimal CPU upgrade (yeah, I know, 64 bit, but I'm on iOS 6) as well as a few other things weren't enough to move me to a 5s. Not offering black AND pushing the white in iOS 7 were the deal breakers.

I like the 5s design because it's the same as my 5, but I'm really not liking what appears to be all these rounded corners on the 6. If Apple still doesn't offer black and iOS 8 is still pushing white with features I either have with my jailbreak or can get, then I don't see a need still.

We'll see though, the 6 isn't here yet.

What do you mean they didn't offer it in black? They had the same exact colors as the 5, and just added the gold one. Black/Slate is the "black" iPhone now.

At the risk of "here we go again", look at the Apple website.

5s is offered in:
• Gold
• White
• Silver
• Space Gray (Grey, depending on your country).

Yes. There are black windows on the front and back of the Space Gray model. I will admit that in some cases Apple may even call it the Black/Space Gray model.

However, I defy you to put a Black/Slate iPhone 5 and a Black/Space Gray 5s face down on a table and tell me that the metal back of the Space Gray iPhone 5s is darker than that of the Black/Slate iPhone 5. You also can't tell me that the metal casing of the Space Gray iPhone 5s is darker than the black metal casing of the iPhone 5. Hence, the 5s Space Gray, even though it has black windows, is NOT black.

Apple chose with the Space Gray to "resolve" their iPhone 5 anodization issues by not anodizing the metal for as long. Hence, you have Space Gray and not Slate and the metal casing is gray, not black.

If you want to call it black because the windows are black, that's fine. But as I have often quoted someone else here before (it's a great line) it's like calling your car black because it has black tires.

There are definitely reasons for people to stick with the 5. I just find TouchID to be a major convenience, especially with the inconsistencies smoothed out. Maybe you'll get to try it and not look back!

Or put a black case on the phone and stop complaining about nothing.
I don't know if that is directed to me or not, but why do I have to spend money to do this when I can just stick with my black iPhone 5?

I'm honestly jealous of you. I passed my slate iPhone 5 to my girlfriend when I upgraded last year and she proceeded to destroy it and then lose it. I like a few features of iOS 7 but I'd much rather have iOS 6 with a jailbreak on a slate 5.

I think you are going to be disappointed this year then. I'd recommend moving on from the black and just accepting change.

LOL, I'm starting to hear that more and more. I didn't make the move to iOS 7 for many of the same reasons I didn't get the 5s. I'm comfortable where I'm at on iOS 6.1, everything is set up the way I want it and I have everything iOS 7 does if not better, either by tweak or app.

Didn't feel the need to move heaven and earth just to get back to where I am now but on iOS 7.

Uhm…I think I'll probably just stay on my black/slate iPhone 5 thanks.

Not really a big issue. I did 3.5 years on an HTC Touch Pro running WinMo 6.1 Pro, customized to my liking with Sense 2.1 w/Weather and a bunch of other mods.

What I have with my iPhone 5 is worlds above that. I'll be fine without the iPhone 6 if that's what happens.

Just to argue. Seems to be a favorite pass time in this forum. Seems everyone just like to jump on others for like entertainment.

Maybe it IS entertainment to some.

I second this.

This thread is probably pointless. I have no idea what everyone is talking about. The last thing I remember is that a couple people are fighting over what a color is called and someone was talking about some fish.

This thread is pointless and is perfect for personal attacks, as we have witnessed.

(Stop personally attacking people :mad::mad:)

OP made a thread to register his thoughts about what he was going to do. A couple of posters cracked jokes. My post was about what I was going to do, which was the opposite of the OP. I mentioned I like black. Someone else picked that up and said that Apple made a black iPhone 5s already. I disagreed and stated my points as to why.

Then came follow up posts.

Who's personally attacking whom?

I have yet to see anyone being called any names or be ridiculed for their opinions or generally insulted, which is what attacking and making it personal is. Simply stating your opinion and giving your reasons as to why is not an attack, nor is it personal. We are debating and discussing and so far no one has thrown any bombs.

So far, it would seem, the mods agree.

Do what you gotta do, guy. If staying on old technology based on the color of the back of the device is what works for you, then hey, more power to ya.

Why are you staying on the old technology of a 2012 iMac? They didn't even offer wireless AC in the 2012 model at all did they? Personally I upgrade every year so I don't have that old technology on my desk.

Thats what you sound like.

I think the black slate iPhone 5 looked hideous the fastest after some wear and tear. My brother has the 5/slate, and you could see the chipping and scrapes so much easier. The 5s space grey was better to me. But I find the silver & gold 5s to look better. I was never into white front iPhones until the 5s came out. But the reason why I like them more is you can actually see the ring around the home button. The space grey you can't. And less fingerprints show on the silver/gold 5s. I take more consideration with the front design than the back. I rarely keep my phones flipped over.

Great have WIfI that is faster than the internet connection and in some cases faster than the device is capable of processing the incoming data. You are the dream customer.

Wow, are you serious? Why not keep a perfectly usable phone for another year?

I am also on the 5 (black ;) ) and I tend to just keep it the third year if the iPhone 6 doesn't blow me away, because: why not?

Wait what's the point of this thread again...:D

Increased post count ? Can of worms ? Who knows ....

Maybe it IS entertainment to some.

Coming to the non-IOS forum to say you are getting an iPhone .. It clearly does entertain some *yawn*

Thinking about .. should go the iPhone one saying I am getting a Galaxy S5 .. in the iPad one I say that I am getting a Galaxy Tab, I will go to the iTunes one saying I just opened a Google account and did I mention that it all feels slightly snappier now ?
