It is a bugger of a dilemma... One that I solved by going to the Apple store and asking to get the top specced machine...

:)

The reason is application of lessons learned. I.e. I acknowledge that I am far from being a power user.. I am not sure if what I do can be classified as using at all (comparing to some of the people on these forums).

But, in previous two instances of purchasing Apple machines (and indeed PCs before that), I always wondered what it would be like to buy the top of the range...

In other instances I really could not justify to spend the money (mainly because I did not have it :) ).

This time around I did (thank you Taxation office for taking so much and giving back so little :) ).. so.. what the hell.. why not...

If I don't spend it, she who will remain nameless will...

:)

Still.. a bugger of a dilemma.

Good luck.

As for me, I had the 2010 13" ultimate. I LOVED that machine. I have always wanted the 11". Actually bought an open box from Best Buy to take to Europe. I really loved the small size factor and weight. Even the 2gig of Ram did not bother me. I found the machine speedy and more than efficient to do the job. Then when the 2011 came out I finally got my dream, an 11" MBA with larger hard drive (well SSD), speed and FINALLY...Back lit keyboard. I missed that most. So the first day went to the Apple store and got my 11" MBA ultimate. It's really a great machine. I use this as my only computer. I have a cinema display at home and it really makes life so easy. Once the thunderbolt display comes available, it's mine.

There are things I really love about the 13" and yes, the battery life is wonderful on it. Extra screen real-estate is great, but the size and weight of the 11" wins for me. Especially the way I travel for work.

To those of you who still don't know which way to go, just take a leap and try something. Which ever one you get you will love.
