I Love the White Cleen look of the MacBook. But Im not a fan of the lack of power it provides.

I would like to see ( and i know it will never happen ) But I want a MacBook Pro: High End CPU, GPU, Loads of Ram, etc... everything the MBP provides... just in the nice case of the MacBook. Even if it is 15 inches.

I dont like the Aluminum look. Im not saying they need to get rid of it, but they should have an option for the White/Black for the MBP, in addition to the sliver.

What do you think?

i have friends who put their white macbooks thru the trenches (so to speak) and boy do those things get DIRTY. i think Apple's strategy was to have their 'pro' computers in sliver. who knows what they will do for the next gen.

I've always preferred the Aluminium look myself.

I can see why you'd like the option of White/Black for the MBP but I think Apple want there to be clear differences. As you say, it's not going to happen.

Putting the white plastic case on the MBP would be a bad idea - it's metal to aid in heat dissipation. It helps keep the fan speeds down.

Which is not to say they can't be a different color, but in any event I believe most of the case is anodized and coated. I'm not a coating specialist, but anodized plus clearcoat should be a thinner, less insulating, finish than paint. Again, better heat dissipation.

I think if they would modify the why the heat vents out of the MacBook style case, then yeah, go for it!

I love the MBP case. IMO it's perfect just the way it is, Apple had black ones (then Powerbooks) in the 90's and have moved forward. It's a pro computer and should reflect that. Besides for $4000 I want something that looks like $4000 not a white plastic Mac I can buy for half the price and after a while the MB keypad starts to discolour.

Apple has marketed the sleek aluminum look to be the "pro" product lineup. If it were to put it into a shiny white plastic case, that would totally drop people's opinions of it. Not going to happen.

If only Apple could combine the looks of the MBP with the toughness of ye olde ThinkPad line. TPs might be ugly but they'll take a vast amount of abuse and survive more or less unscathed.

Nice for us klutzes... :)

No way!

Heck, I'm only buying a macbook pro because I think MBs are the ugliest thing invented. From the cheap plastic, to those god-awful keyboards to the glossy screens. I'm paying 700 more to AVOID that!

Nah, black anodized aluminium, now that would be awesome.

Yeah, black anondized aluminum would be sweet, although I wonder would it scratch easier. Yes Apple had the black Powerbooks in the 90's but those were made of plastic.

I took a look at that custom MBP color site, and man an orange MBP would look sharp! combined with the white Apple logo, you have the creamsicle look...mmmm...creamsicle :D
