Well after a half dozen calls to Citizen one and a couple trips to my local Apple store, still no resolution. I have since canceled Verizon and deactivated my phone. CO still tells me I have a zero balance even after I explain the situation and Apple says "looks like you got a free iPhone." So at this point I'm done dealing with it but will be expecting a call in six months or so from CO saying something along the lines of "sooo, about that iPhone....?"

Big companies don't go back and charge for things like that. It wasn't charged and you're balance is zero. Theyll forever see the account as $0.00 and won't know you got a phone.

The problem with text. Anyone can read any emotion. Relentless read arrogance, you meant concern, I read shock.
@oneMadRssn @Relentless Power

I apologize if my thread title was lost in translation, one of the unfortunate happenings of conversing on the ol' interwebs. I meant to convey concern more that arrogance. I will be in touch with the bank, as I have been, and I will update once I found a resolution.

Thanks guys.

If you can get, in writing, a note from them stating they have reviewed your account on this date and determined you have no due charges despite your attempts to try to pay, that could hold up well if in the future they try to get you to pay.

Rest assured, Citizens will get their money. I'm surprised in here that some Seem not to understand what banks can and cannot do. When the bank figures out the discrepancy, they will charge or debit the Op's account.

And for the record, even if the OP vacates away from Citizen, they will it assess it on his taxes or suit him civilly which will likely levy his wages/bank account. Anyone wondering if this is accurate, Contact Citizens and ask for terms and conditions for legalities.

Also, the OP has the audacity to start a thread on a free iPhone. My thoughts are he is looking for support or feedback because he is nervous and wanting to know if others are wondering if the bank will charge him. I think he is on the verge of committing fraud, knowingly he received something he should come forth with and be honest.

Which, I'm assuming he won't be back in this thread anymore.
Assesses it on his taxes? What you talkin' bout Willis?

For example, If civil litigation arises in court over the dispute and the defendant doesn't pay a court order, it can be levied to a. Any account or assessed on taxes. It's extreme, but could happen. I highly doubt that's situation with the OP.

Kudos to you!

I once bought an Xbox and never got charged for it. Sat on the cash for the better part of a year and eventually bought a PSP with it (obviously this was years ago, because who would buy a psp in this decade?).

It's a rare occurrence my friend, treasure the moment.

I can't believe you went to that much trouble to clear this up. And the MacRumors moral compass was sure quick to judge. I think some of these people owe you an apology. Especially the idiot calling you a stupid jerk.
