Solved it!!

For me it's quite clear that push only works when I disconnect myself from WIFI network, which means push mails of iCloud only works on 3G network? I really question about that.

Pls solve the problem APPLE!!!

I solved the problem. The I tried hard reboots. Turning features on and off. Every thing I could think of. Its multitasking that is the problem. Mail was running when I updated iCloud. It was still syncing to the me.com server because it doesn't even close when you reboot the phone. I manually closed all applications including mail and phone and it worked right away.

----------

iCloud isn't pushing email on iOS 5. Anyone else having this issue? You have to restart it to get any push notifications once.

Close mail and all other apps being multi-tasked and then try sending yourself an email from your computer. It should push then.

This worked for me

After upgrading to IOS5 push mail was working OK. After sync'ing my iPhone 4 yesterday push has not worked.

On going over what I had done I realised I that the only change I had made was to enable and try out Sync over WiFi.

I have now disabled the Sync over WiFi feature and Push now works again for both my icloud account and my Exchange account.

;)

test with the mail app closed, most likely the email will not push. Now, open the mail app opened, push again, it will work just fine. It has something to do with the mail app being closed while using a iCloud account.

I think this is a MAJOR client issue and we need 5.0.1.

Try this Solution

Solution:

1 - On iPhone Go To Settings/Mail, Contacts, Calendars/Add Account/iCloud/Get a Free Apple ID
2 - Creat a new .me account
3 - Sync only emails
4 - Results: The new icloud account registers the device and everything works fine
"Push" is working again on both accounts
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------

The solution above is the only thing that works for me, after creating a new iCloud account, on both my iPhone and my wife's, our old .mac/.me email accounts are working properly, and being pushed, can this problem only affect the old mac.com/me.com email accounts, prior to iCloud ??
I was a paid me.com customer, and the email accounts were created in me.com, but, when upgrading to iOS5, decided to convert the me email accounts to iCloud, so now I wonder if the old converted accounts are the only ones having this problem with push from iCloud ??

There is another forum where a poster stated, " my girlfriend and I both have the new iPhone 4s, I am unable to receive PUSH Notification since I converted my Me.com account to iCloud, while she didn't, and she has No Problem receiving PUSH Notifications.", Therefore, from what he relates, this has to be an iCLOUD Problem.

Also, Note, for a little time, Yesterday Morning, I was receiving PUSH Notification, on my old converted me.com address, when I deleted the phantom iCloud address I had created. it worked flawlessly both with the mail.app opened and closed, but, later in the day, PUSH suddenly stopped, as it started, and I had to re-install the phantom address once again, as detailed above to get PUSH back on my iPhone, so definitely appears to be an iCLOUD issue.

Hey, Tim Cook, "It Just Works!", is out the door, Fix It before you get a mass revolt of paid iPhone customers running to the Mass Media to get this matter addressed as what happened in Antennagate with the late Steve Jobs.

who knows he may come on the boob tube and say we're typing to fast or too slow, and thats why the Push issue is happening !!!, as Steve related about how callers weren't holding the iPhone correctly and having drop calls !!!

Anyone know if this issue is still present in the iOS 5.0.1 betas?

Just to let you guys know, push seems to be fixed on iOS 5.0.1 beta 2. ;)

I hope so. I've received no email on my iPad over the weekend, but they've all appeared on my MBP this morning. I've tried push and manual checking and nothing gets through

Used to work fine for about a week after launch. Not functioning on my iPad 2 or iPhone 4 for about 8 days now or longer. Badge icons also do not reflect accurate mailbox status. Making my Gmail migration that much more loathsome.

I've been struggling with battery issues and lack of push over iCloud since iOS 5 and iOS 5.0.1 didn't help.
I've managed to fix my push issues - I deleted the account, hard reset, erased network settings, added the account again and now it's been hours and push is still working perfectly.

Now just need a fix for the dam battery!
