Well I often had the problem when changing passwords. I cloud keychain / Safari didn't recognize the change and I hat to use the "forgot password" feature. Also, somehow, 1 Password looks nice. But yeah, I don't think there is much more value when using it, isn't it?
This happens to me periodically. This and my text shortcuts ( expansions ) not syncing. I never know why it happens. One computer will stop syncing passwords or shortcuts, and it takes a drastic measures to fix.

Another happy 1Password user here.
1Password is one of the few apps that actually has merits, in my book, to pull off a subscription based model. It stores passwords to my entire life. Makes sense to pay 'em for keeping it safe.

Happy Enpass user here. Enpass runs on a lot of platforms, including Linux.
It also is a one time payment for the iOS version, no subscription, and the desktop version is free.
The software works reliable, and you can also use your own sync server which is a big plus for me.

I would like to free myself from the Mac keychain as detailed in the above thread, trying to use Keychain locally (without iCloud) is difficult. However I can't seem to find out whether Enpass will import all of my passwords and secure notes from Keychain, is it possible?

Everything else about Enpass fits what I want as you don't have to use the Cloud if you don't want to.

Update: Or even if you can download free desktop version of Enpass, log into each website, let Safari autofill password and let Enpass remember the login/password for that site.

If you need a simple and free zero-knowledge password manager that works on multiple devices i can recommend Encryptr. All encryption is done on your own device, after which the data syncs online.

Thanks but I am either hoping I can stop Safari from saving my website passwords to the Local Items folder in Keychain which if you never use Icloud you can't migrate this folder to a new computer

Or

Find a 3rd party app that offers a local only option, is free, and either can import my Keychain passwords or will save them as I visit each site and Safari/Keychain autofills them in.
