iCloud outgoing mail offline?

Fix or Fail

I just did this. I even reset my passwords. Signed out of everything, back in.
I am open to any other suggestions. If anyone has mail that IS working both ways, can you help with my settings? Maybe I have something wrong. I use the mail app and I have all that I am supposed to with iCloud. I can send an email from iCloud..I get mail to my iCloud address.

I logged in to .appleid.apple.com. Changed my password then signed out and back in with the new password ( which works incidentally) Then i closed my Mail app and re opened it plus restarted my computer... nada zero nothing .. my outbound Mail is still inoperative plus the server still rejects my password.. I guess i will just stick with Yahoo Mail Plus ..

Well, again MM mail is offline.

As of this am, took 5 min to send a forward text email; and not getting mail.

Whatever apple.

edit/add : and there it is, an instant money transfer from my bank I did 25 min ago. That should have been instant.

Check your outgoing settings in the mail client. The outgoing server name for the iCloud account should be: smtp.me.com NOT smtp.mail.me.com. Also on the advanced tab for outgoing server make sure user name is iCloud appleID without the @me.com suffix. This is true for both Lion and Snow Leopard.

I'm on MM, and will not transition to iCloud.

Still change settings for outgoing?

I took your advise and made these changes ... it is working again ... for now
