Well, that is strange. I have had this issue and it is frustrating. If you are on a portable, does the sending problem occur on every network that you are on?

Only happens on her MacBook. iPhone works as does iPad. We are on a full :apple: network- 2 airport extremes and 2 xpress's.

To be honest, I am so sick of helping them on Lion, I should have left well enough only; I know better. Lion and iCloud busted our family shared calendars too; but that's a separate thread and because I share them from my 100% functional SL machine.

So like the OP states- I want to throw/snap in half/hurl into the street/ or just shoot this MB and OSX 10.7.2

Given up on Mac email

I've had nothing but problems every since I upgraded to Lion. Then when iCloud entered the picture things got worse. Had to quit using Mac email altogether (went to gmail) Considering going back to a PC.
No scroll bar arrows (track pad won't scroll either)
email keeps asking for PW
Safari keeps crashing
iweb password problems: Can't post to my web site
impossible to sync between calendars!
Slow!!
Apple screwed up on this one!

Yep, I still can't send e-mail from my mac on the @me.com account.

Keeps asking for the password when sending.

BS!

It has actually become worse than how MobileMe was towards the end. I have given up now and forwarded everything to GMail. I still use the other iCloud features, but Mail has always caused me issues.

Im also still having this problem. It was infuriating me so much I did a fresh install of OSX and created a new user account on my Mac.

Problem still persists. Im beginning to think the problem is at Apples end :(

I'm using my iCloud @me.com address daily, both sending and receiving from my computer (the native Mail app) and my iPhone. I seldom use the web interface. I've never experienced any problems, except for the (un)read-status not being pushed and mails not being pushed to the iPhone without the mail app running.

Not helping at all, but it's weird that it seems to be such a wide spread problem. Could it be that Apple has several servers around the globe and only some of them are acting up?

Don't begin to think it. You can rest assured it is. The problem is well documented and for the most part will come and go. It was most pronounced immediately after the release of iCloud but it has been getting better slowly. It is pathetic that it is still occurring at this point. The only solution is to wait it out and hope Apple gets their **** together soon.

iCloud sucks big arse right now. No doubt about it. Mail prompts me for my iCloud password EVERYTIME I try to re-connect to a network, and the iCloud web interface is slow as suck. No Apple fanboy can deny this.

Here we go again. For the third time in as many weeks, my iCloud email is now down. And again, Apple's BA "iCloud Status" page says everything is honey dorey. This NEVER happened when to me when it was MobileMe. This instance today occurred at the very moment I was trying to email my resume to someone asking for it.

Thanks, Apple. Really.

So True. iCloud is TERRIBLE. My emails won't update, sync or load properly!

I am so glad I found this page and can see others reporting these issues.

My emails that I send from my computer do not load on my iPhone. They don't show up in sent. Also, when I try to check mail on my iPhone it just keeps looking and won't update. Then every few hours it says that my password is incorrect. I load the new password into the phone and the mail updates and then the same thing happens. I've spent 15 hours on the phone with tech support this week---NOT EXAGGERATING.
Besides dealing with a few rude reps, they offered little help and had no clue how to troubleshoot the problem. They just keep saying they are having "issues" with iCloud and that it will be fixed soon.

One would think they'd have learned from their MobileMe failures, but obviously they're too busy counting their money and watching their stock rise to take time out and actually deliver a service with no hassle. All the reasons they used to make fun of Microsoft for, they are now guilty of.

I just want my email to work.
Lion has caused enough issues, now this?

I am officially beginning my transition to a simple gmail account so I don't have to rely on Apple's inept features. They can't even roll out a simple service and deliver the features.

You want to break your MacBook because iCloud isn't working? Just switch mail provider. No need to break anything.

Mail is the one thing that I've found the most reliable. Photostream on the other hand....

Ive had the same problem
Here's a screen shot. I cant rely on my .me/.mac email address. The iCloud email hasnt worked in 4 days now. Sent Apple bug reports everytime. I have done all the forementioned stuff here. VERY disappointing. Apply needs to get their act together. If Jobs was around people would be getting whipped

This IMO opinion is worse then the MobileMe debacle. Also Im no Apple hater Ive been on them since 92' and just was given a PC and thing its the worst thing ever.

All the riff raff with Lion and now this has been a bummer. Add the iPhone battery issues and these guys are coming up short atleast for me :(

Here what my mail client is doing just like the OP said... same deal. NOTHING has changed from when it was working. This was happening before it requested a new passowrd on the web client. iCloud requested I change my password and I did still doing it. I can log into iCloud but it automatically paginates into the image I posted in the above post I made. WTH! Thank god for my gmail client, and all my other email clients from my website/FTP client, gmail, hotmail and yahoo work fine...

Icloud mail is terrible. Its not a setting problem or a laptop problem. It's an Apple problem. Very very dissapointed!!
