I'd buy an iphone 16 if it had rounded sides. I would be throwing my money at apple for a new phone with rounded sides.

...If Apple manages a paradigm shift like they did with in 2017 with the iPhone X - which I still use (in near-mint condition, but 72% battery health ). the 16 models seem more like a rest stop, than a destination.

On the other hand, perhaps it would be prudent to buy an iphone 16 Pro now - and some other tech stuff, too, (drones, laptops, monitors/TVs, car ECUs, toaster ovens, etc.) - before January 2025.

Yeah, a quicker way to block a number would be nice. At the moment I have to dig several layers deep into a menu system to add a number to my blocked list. I'm still using an iPhone 7 though - so maybe adding numbers to the blocked list is easier these days? I don't know.
What iOS are you on? Takes 3 taps on the current one. I would turn on silenced unknown callers. If you find it annoying to toggle on/off for verification calls create a shortcut for it. You can even bind it to something like back tap for quick access.
