No even remotely possible in the remotest or remote galaxies to get Internet Explorer 6 on an iPhone

IE on the iPhone? You're kidding right? That would be like a Pizza Hut in Italy.

"john, there's some pretty weird stuff going on outside. I saw some pigs flying around, lions and lambs are laying down together and, no joke, hell has frozen over."

"Hey man, that's crazy! In unrelated news, I got IE6 on my iPhone. Pretty sweet, no?"

Yikers:eek: *slowly backs out of the iPhone forum*

Why would you do that?!?!

Nope. Internet Explorer development for the Mac ended with IE5, for crying out loud. This will never happen.

*crying*

Jesus, now I have to explain why I'm laughing so hard I can't breathe. Thanks.

Oh yeah. Head over to the Mac Applications forum. I'm sure everyone there will be nice in answering this question. :D

This gets my vote for POTD!

Jesus- I'm buying a blackberry now:p

Hey, many of us (myself included) are former WinMo owners. We've been there, and experienced the pain of IE on a Windows phone. We have battle scars, ok! Switching to the iPhone was like coming home to a welcoming parade after a long war. So yeah, we're a little emotional about it. :)

That's the problem. Technology is inanimate and does not deserve an emotional attachment. People who are emotionally attached to M$ will never experience the Apple world. You've probably met people like that. People who are emotionally detached from the technology often make better technology decisions.

(Edit: I always get a kick out of posters who post "I have been a loyal customer" like that is a badge of merit. Dogs can be loyal too...but at least they get food and shelter.)

The camera probably uses an ActiveX control to display the images, so unless there is an update to the camera firmware, you're probably out of luck.

There are some browsers that can spoof the server and pretend to be IE. If the issue is not ActiveX, etc., but rather the server is detecting the browser type and only approving IE, there may be an option.

Here's one app. I have NOT tried it. Mixed reviews. Might be because folks expect it to run Flash, etc.

Spy - Full View Faux Browser $0.99

You can try that out on your Mac/PC first for free in Safari by going to Preferences>Advanced and enabling the Developer menu and there changing the "user agent" to Internet Explorer.

People are too harsh here sometimes, but don't be too afraid. I noticed that you have to have relatively thick skin to use the iPhone forum. People are generally nicer in the Mac-side of these forums.

dont even think about mentioning you broke your iphone and want to get it replaced by apple for free. you will be attacked by a bunch of internet iphone moral police that i know would never talk that way to a person face to face

I've never looked into this, but if you have a PC at home you can try LOGMEIN to connect remotely and view it through there. But like I said, I don't know if there's even a remote desktop app in the App Store, but it may be possible.
