If you're a low-end user, I'd wait until the Merom units ship, and then you can probably pick up a Yonah one cheap. That's what I'm planning on doing.

I figure that, by the end of the year, we'll see used/refurbished 1.83 Core Duo's going in the $1200 range.

I know there are some really cheap refurbs going in the Apple Store over here with memory etc. I sometimes wish I would have gone refurb would have saved me a bit but oh well too late now
