I'm glad I swapped from the iPhone to the Nexus. Nice to see the little difference between the two as I'd been running iOS since 2.0 - it was getting stale for me. Hardware wise, I would say the N5 has a screen that's ever so slightly too large, and that the iPhone 5/5S is slightly too small. One thing that I would miss if I went back to the iPhone would be the wireless charging - I never thought it would be such a big point but its such a good concept and, personally, extremely useful.

This exactly. Really wish more manufacturers would go with the size of the Moto X.

If you have the money, I'd just buy a Nexus 5 and try it out. I believe Google gives you 15 days to request a refund minus any shipping fees.

Personally, viewing angles have never been an issue with me on the Nexus 5 and I have not once yet ran out of battery. It charges quickly tho and wireless charging helps too. I also haven't had one crash while browsing the internet or doing anything like that.

Nothing beats pure Android. Nexus is the way to go if you want the best Android experience.

Honestly, I wouldn't trade my 5C for any Android. If I had a 5S it would be the same...

iPhone is iPhone.

Unfortunately...

Of course you'll hate them you have already used a iPhone. If the only phone you ever knew to exist was a flip phone and and samsung then I'm sure you'd love the Samsung. But that's only when you don't know there is heaven on iOS.

hahah...no ;)

If you call out-dated technology, a boring OS that you mold to (as opposed to molds to you), lame wall of icons with nothing that useful to show "heaven," then I think you have to raise your standards.

For all those that say Samsung copied Apple. Well I guess Apple just got into the copy-cat business too! iOS 7 = been there, done that already.

as well as terrible viewing angles on the screen.

Anandtech and other reviews contradicts you.

You have to try harder, it is very obvious

Except for absolutely terrible viewing angles and light bleeding on nexus 5

Or you had a faulty unit or you never used one Nexus 5, it has excellent viewing angles and doesn't bleed

If you love the 5S why are you considering other phones?

Just use it for another 6 months then reconsider your options.

I take it you're not married.

You really sound like someone who has never actually seen it OR saw a defective unit.. The viewing angles on mine are extremely good.

Bro, i had nexus five, at least the one i had, had terrible viewing angles. Thats a FACT. Also, cruise over to nexus 5 section on the XDA and you'll see in not the only one

Entirely possible that i had a faulty unit. Im not gonna dispute that. However, im not the only one with this kind of screen.

Well unless they are using different screens in different batches or your one was defective, I have no explanation - because this is the best screen I have had on a phone and it's the highlight of the device for me.

Same thought as myself.

If your happy with what you have why look in other pastures. Sometimes the grass may look greener but it's still the same grass at the end of the day.

If your happy with the 5s keep it and see what this year brings from all manufacturers and then decide.

You still have a very nice phone....

Wow , thanks for all the replies , interesting reading them all and yes jay I am married for 16 years with 5 children lol , I'm just the kind of guy that gets bored after 2 months with his toys and starts looking elsewhere . The 5s does everything I need plus I have an unlocked contract free on straight talk 45 bux a month unlimited data so I'm set but yet I find myself bored sometimes with it but , I would probubly get just as bored with the nexus and end up regreting trading a 650 dollar phone for a 350 dollar phone , and what's up with that can someone tell me why the 5s cost 300 dollars more , where is that xtra money going ?

My suggestions? Keep your 5S and buy a Moto G and Lumia 520 off Amazon.

You can both for $280 including tax and if you buy a sim adapter, just switch out whenever you feel like it. That's what I've done and I couldn't be happier.

I tried the most popular Android phones. Liked them, but couldn't bring myself to leave a high-end phone in a drawer. So I went back to iPhone and picked up these cheaper babies. Both are AWESOME for the price - the Moto G FEELS like a much more expensive phone. With the exception it doesn't have LTE, I actually like the Moto G more than any other Android I've used.

My setup - I use an iPhone 5S for work (that doesn't change - we have to use iPhones at my company), and I switch between an iPhone 5C, the Moto G and the Lumia 520 for personal use. That way if I feel like mixing it up or if I'm "getting bored" I can try something else out.

Also helps keep me knowledgeable on the 3 major OSes. Only issue I have ATM is moving text messages.....but that's not a huge concern. I'd love to be able to refer back to earlier messages on all phones and I know there are ways to transfer but I haven't decided if I want to go to all the trouble.

Signed - an iOS guy who likes the other guys too.

Brand name.

The Note 3 is similar to the Galaxy S3 as it is made by the same company, Samsung. The UI will be more similar. The Note 3 has some more features and a stylus. Overall, I think the experience will be similar to the SGS3 which you hated.

The Nexus 5 will be a bit more different than the SGS3 compared to the Note 3. If you do want to try an Android device, I would suggest the Nexus 5 over the Note 3 since you didn't like the SGS3. The Samsung devices come with the TouchWiz UI which is different than Nexus 5 UI. You could try one at the store to see how you like it.

My gut feel is that you'll probably not be satisfied with Nexus 5. You said the iP5S does everything you need. Unless you just want to really try something different, just stick with your iP5S unless there is something you want that the iP5S doesn't provide.

thats true. galaxy s3 does suck. and even then millions of people use this. stupid note 3 .....5s i love you

I respectfully disagree. I personally really like the SGS3. I've been using it for a year and a half and have no desire to get anything different.
