I have different use cases for iPadOS than I do for macOS. I think macOS on an iPad Pro would break much of the iPad Pro's utility, especially given that many developers have opted out of having their iPad apps run on Apple Silicon macOS.

iPadOS is more stress free then MacOS. If your working on MacOS, your now dealing with “how much RAM do I need”, “I need to pay attention to my SSD read/write” your now a MacOS user.

With iPadOS, we don’t have access to that information because the OS and apps are better optimized. No worries if an app is leaking memory. The OS works better. I have more faith in iPadOS then MacOS.

If I wanted something that only ran macOS, I would get a MacBook. macOS will never be a good tablet operating system without a total overhaul that no one has the time to do right. The iPad has to have iPadOS as its primary operating system.

What I actually need, tho, is an iPad that runs iPadOS and can either dual boot to macOS or run macOS in a VM.
