Every time I walk into an Apple Store I get the feeling I'm walking into an IKEA store. Its got that real cheap feel to it. I love their minimalist decor but Apple needs to refresh it with a more upgraded look. Something more in line with the new Sony Store. The new Sony Store has a minimalist and extremely modern look without looking cheap like the Apple Stores. It just looks high end especially with all the high end electronics like their wall of XBR TVs. Then you got all their other high end stuff like cameras, camcorders, bluray players, etc.... The store just looks so cool.

Do you know Apple Stores contain understated
Real granite floor.
Real wood tables.

Not the fake laminated floors or tables in the Sony Store.

Also, PR video: "every time you get in here it can be a completely different experience."

LOL. So they are doing the super market way of moving things around to confuse people, in the hope that people will spend more time in the store.

Sony has a store 3 doors down from the Apple store near me. Apple store is always mobbed. I've never seen more than a dozen people in the Sony store.

You must be talking of the old Sony Style, because this is their first Sony Store.

Yet they still look cheap like tables from IKEA. Seriously.

Not the fake laminated floors or tables in the Sony Store.

And you know this how? You've been to this store which is currently the only new Sony Store in the world. Let's just give credit where it is due. This store looks amazing, and I have yet to find anyone objective that says different.

I guess. The older Sony store is very nice but still pretty empty.

Apple has no reason to re-do their stores. They are mobbed, attract record numbers of visitors each quarter and Apple's sales have broken records for more quarters that I can remember.

The Apple Store here in Omaha, as far as I know, has been almost the exact same for a LONG time. It is nice, but a little bland. So, I can't comment on other stores, but yea, ours could use a bit of an update.

I really like the look of the Sony Store in that video. Those glass info-panel table-top things are really nice looking. Looks like a pretty nice store.

Gaudy and overdone. Extremely inelegant. No Zen.

A lot like Sony's not-TV consumer products, in fact. As within, so without.

New stores won't help sell half-baked PC products with colourful shells.

There is no Apple store in my town. But there is a Sony one. And just like any other store, it displays products, allows users to try them out and has the staff to provide advice. Real wood or fake wood, it does the same thing.

Yes, because the VAIO section of the store is the sole reason it was built. Forget about the TVs, Home Theater, Cameras, PMPs and Headphones, PlayStation, etc. They just want to sell more laptops.

I'm not sure you know what that word means. I, in my entire life, have never found anyone objective (without bias).

Gah! please stop posting this annoying garbage.

I think the store looks nice. It's not minimalist like an Apple Store, but it's not crowded like a Best Buy. It's got a pretty nice feel for it. Sure it might not be as trendy as an Apple store, but it'll sure sell some PS3s.

IMO, from the video I thought the Sony Store looked like a slightly gaudier version of the Apple Store. It's like they copied the Apple Store's basic minimalism, then decided to add some "Pizzaz" in the form of high color graphics.

This store looks amazing, and I have yet to find anyone objective that says different.

Because obviously, anyone who doesn't agree with you couldn't possibly be objective, right?

Will be interesting to see how sales compare. Here in MN there is already a windows store directly across from the apple store in MoA. Maybe we'll have tech row if they move the best buy mobile store and add one of these. Almost forgot the Bose store with their home theatre setup, already on the east side.

I like the apple store fine the way it is, only problem is that I feel like I'm being suffocated by the amount of people and employees that are always crammed in there. I'm sure apple isn't going to complain about that though.

Sony Store will sue you if you breath the wrong way:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1109081/

This thread was about retail stores, but since you brought it up, I don't see anything wrong with Sony protecting their investment and hence their shareholders. Do you also have a problem with Artist going after people who download their music without paying? Do you hate Sony for any particular reason? People who try to steal things and then get upset over the fact the person your stealing from is legally coming after you need to get a clue. This would include you since you find Sony so wrong for doing so.

Just a question, have you ever posted anything about Apple and it's under age slave labor issues as well as the suicides and horrible working conditions in China? Probably not, keep enjoying your Apple product while questioning the ethics of other manufactures.

You can't really pirate a PS3, so that's different than people pirating music.

I think Sony should try a more Appleish look to their stores ... they might get some customers in there

You are aware that Sony contracts with some of the same contract manufacturers that Apple does, right?

I seriously cannot tell if you're trolling. You are the most ill informed, biased, inconsiderate, closed minded fool I have ever had the displeasure of sharing a planet with.

Sony's primary money earner isn't laptops or PC's, it's other hardware like TV's, stereos and the like.

Sony make very good products and I have never had one that I haven't liked or that had any issues.

And you mention 'zen'. It seems your opinions lack zen, as talking to you is like talking to an unstoppable Apple task force. You're like Mao, or Goebbels, you only show the superiority of what you believe without looking at facts or even admitting that anyone else makes good products.

No one likes you or your over the top opinions which makes even the most diehard fanboys shy away into a corner and cry.
