Went with xs. Love the size, to me the xs is the perfect sized phone. Not too big and not too small. I personally hated the plus line and the likes of note series.

"I obviously have no clue what I'm talking about" as I sit here with two lightning fast, problem-free AT&T Xs Max devices and five friends and coworkers who also purchased on launch day on T-Mobile and Verizon, all with zero issues.

By all means, go ahead and be sad about "lab-tested RF power output" and I'll be over here with the millions of people fully satisfied and having no connectivity or speed issues whatsoever.

By no means is this a disaster. That is hilarious.

If I didn't have an iPhone, then the Max 512GB SG, but since I have that, I'd ask for PRODUCT RED XR in any configuration, 256GB preferred, I'm a media junkie, as a backup phone.

Go somewhere with weak reception. You will have no service, someone with a Galaxy S9 or Note 9 will be cruising along on LTE. Just because you live somewhere that's saturated with cellular signals doesn't mean that the iPhone Xs and Xs Max aren't a disaster from a design perspective.

Sure, there are millions of clueless people who don't realize that their phones are crap at getting a signal, but there are also thousands upon thousands of complaints of signal problems on this forum alone.

7 plus since I have no interest in wireless charging
IPhone X is too small
IPhone XS Max has poor reception
Iphone XR has subpar display

I have the IPhone 6s+

If offered for free, definitely Max. Why not since it’ll have the best resale value.

Ah, so everyone who enjoys their XS is clueless and only high IQ people who obsess over RF signal analyzation are the master race.

Got it.

I don’t see this anywhere except technical forums. I don’t see this in any of the major reviews of the device, and I don’t see anyone complaining in the real world and I handle IT for a handful of business in the Boston and Los Angeles area with quite a few XS devices on the roster. If you think the competing flagship Android devices perform better, by all means make the switch. This issue isn’t near as drastic as some wish it was, for whatever reason. It barely touches the mainstream and you can’t just call millions of people “clueless” if they’re simply happy with their purchase.

Max. Only because of the larger 6.5 display. And OLED is a significant shift for me over LCD.

Unless I'm comparing phones side by side, I'm not sure it is that important (LED vs OLED). At least I still don't have complaints about the screen on my 7+ when I use it. It is just the overall size of the phone, and I like the small bezel vs the older models.

Apples LCD panels are still very good, decent brightness, colors are accurate, I really do like the OLED panel they Apple chose from Samsung, (i.e.) the true blacks, the brightness is still very comparable, color saturation is accurate, to me, I just want to the dispay upgrade. I understand everybody is different.

Offered as in free? Of course I'd go with the best Apple offers: XS Max.

XS because I don't want the Max. I like it better than the XR when I played with the R in person. Oh and of course I want it to be an upgrade to my X.

It has nothing to do with IQ. There are tons of clueless smart people out there with advanced degrees who earn a lot of money and who have no clue how a cell phone network works, or don't understand basic things about how the mechanicals in their house or car works or whatnot. Most of the American public is clueless about most things, and I'm sure there are things I don't know about, but I do try to educate myself, even though most industries don't make it easy to learn how things really work.

And what magazine or website is going to cover it and possibly get banned from future Apple events, since it is widely known that they have a ban list that contains many journalists who have gotten on their bad side. Further, we've never seen much reporting about RF performance, this is nothing new. It's absolutley a disservice to consumers and the general public to not widely publicize these failings of the Xs and Xs Max.

Your users will be in for a real shock when they're not in the middle of a city that is saturated in cellular coverage, and they're up in the mountains in New Hampshire or along the coast in Maine, and they have no service or no usable data in places where a Galaxy S9 or Note 9 or even the older iPhones can get a bar of LTE no problem. I really don't even think most people realize how much a phone can influence the usability of a service at the extreme cell edge, which is much more common in the US than most people would like to admit to or realize. Even with AT&T or Verizon, when traveling, you'll often be at the cell edge, or slightly beyond, so the ability to pick up a weak signal is the difference between service and no service in many areas.
