Most recent rumour makes it sound again like the mini LED model will be more expensive, possibly the 11" and 12.9" will both be updated with A14X but without mini LED, and there will be an additional mini LED 12.9" model at an even higher price point. That's a bit annoying as I'd prefer to avoid going north of £1,000 (for the tablet itself at least) and the 12.9 already starts just a hair under.

I take it your answer is no then?

The iPad is my favourite computing device - and the new design the Pros got in 2018 is just damn gorgeous.

I'm a sucker for upgrading, but since my 2018 Pro 12.9, the only desire I've had is maybe switching to the 11" for a bit more portability and one handed use.

Gotta say, over 2 years later and the Pro I'm using still feels incredible as a device. Really not tempted by much, even mini LED. I think OLED would definitely change that though.

The other thing, all along there's been the rumour of mini LED display for the 12.9. I was a bit nervous that maybe with the iPad Air 10.9 that the 11 Pro would go away. But sounds like this isn't the case. If the current rumours are true, that the 12.9 gets mini LED, but at the cost of adding more thickness, I'd myself be tempted to go for the 11.

In all seriousness, what I'm really hoping we see along with iPad Pro updates is a new iPad mini based on the iPad Air (and Pro design). I think I'd grab one of those to use along side my 12.9. And then of course, come 2022, I'll replace them both with an OLED 11" lol.

Not upgrading my 2020 11”, but I may upgrade my 1st gen 12.9”. However, I’m enjoying 11” more so may not.

Apple knows they've got us by the short hairs. ???
I’m certainly regretting my bus logic with upgrades as I’m also pretty much ready for a new phone and an Apple Silicon Mac, this could be an extremely expensive year ?

To be honest with how decent apples LCD displays are, sometimes even comparing my iPP screen next to my iPhone 12 Pro OLED screen it’s hard to tell a night and day difference.

I think miniLED won’t be a huge game changer as it’s being made out to be... so upgrading for that alone for me isn’t worth it.

I think LCD to OLED will be a bigger difference than LED to mini LED to be honest. funny thing is 11 inch is said to be expected to have OLED in 2022

Already upgraded my iPhone last year (hooray $250 iPhone SE2 Walmart deal). Also got the M1 MBA 8/512 last December (WFH while in quarantine/self-isolation).

I really enjoyed the silence and battery life of the M1 MBA compared to my Intel laptops so I was planning to replace it with 16/1TB. Now that things are back to almost normal though, the MBA has been sitting unused. I'm back to using desktop for work and iPad for personal. Methinks my next upgrade should be the iPad.

I will upgrade from my 12.9. I need more ram and a better display will be lovely. Most of all i hope thermals are improved, this thing dims way too often for my comfort. I’m a bit swayed with the idea of going th with the11 this time

I much prefer OLED over Mini-LED because OLED panels can turn off black pixels, which saves battery.

I agree. I’m sure mini LED will be a nice improvement for LCDs (I mean its just an increase in the number of backlights), but its still an LCD panel with backlighting and not OLED (or micro LED).

But like what others have said, Apple’s devices with LCDs have been excellent.

Yeah 100% the only thing which I may like about miniLED is if there isn’t any pooling when the screen is pressed a little too hard... but I think miniLED is still an LCD so not sure if it will still pool like LCD

I stopped upgrading iPads every year since the introduction of the Pro line, they got pricey but also longer lasting, so it's a good position to be in I guess.

The 2020 11-inch is great for what it is, it's a shame they didn't introduce it with A13X, but other than that I'm very happy with the purchase, they would have to do much, much more than OLED and 5G to get me interested in upgrading. I'll still be watching the keynote, tho, because the future of the iPad is really interesting to me.
