Will you jump right in or wait and see?

I for one will probably jump right in, but a bit worried if there are alot of changes. This might considered a REV. A, something I am weary of. But I have been waiting for this baby so long that another month of waiting for bug reports might just be a bit painful.

Interested in what you guys are thinking.

I don't think I will ever buy a rev A Apple product again.

The screen may be a new addition, but the MacBook Pro line is far from a rev. A product. I'm going to buy one this summer.

Now if they'd only add a right mouse button...

Use two fingers to tap the trackpad.

Is that a new feature? Last I checked, command-clicking was the only way to "fake" a right click on a Mac.

Also, would that carry over if I installed Windows or Ubuntu?

Thanks!

I bought a rev a 15" MacBook Pro when it came out (placed the order within an hour of the keynote.) It's not out of warranty, and starting to act flaky. Plus, it is missing a couple features that were fixed in the Core 2 line (FW800 and Dual Layer burning.) In addition, I *REALLY* wanted a full-feature replacement for the 12" PowerBook.

If Santa Rosa brings a new true PRO computer that has a screen smaller than 15", I will likely upgrade. The 12" PowerBook was barely a member of the PowerBook line (after all, it was really just a minorly upgraded iBook.)

And, I do have a track record now of buying rev a notebooks that are the 'first'. (First 12" PowerBook G4, then first MacBook Pro, so I guess the new 'first' 12" or so MacBook Pro would be nice.)

I'd really like a 12" widscreen, with ALL the features of the 15 and 17" models, although I will miss the resolution of the MacBook Pro. 1280x800 as with the MacBook would be acceptable, but if they can find a higher res 12" panel, I'd be much appreciative. (There have been long rumors of even higher res 'Pro' notebook, and the resolution independence of Leopard might make it more likely to finally see them. 1920x1200 on the 17", 1680x1050 on the 15", and 1440x900 on the 12" would be a great lineup. Unfortunately, while I can find even 1920x1200 15" panels, I can't find any 12" panels higher than 1280x800.)

You have to enable it in system preferences. Works for me with Vista.

It's been there since the second rev of the MacBook Pro. (And was retroactively added to even the original rev of the MBP with a software update.)

With Apple's Boot Camp drivers, it carries over to Windows, but as far as I know, it doesn't work in any other OSes.

(It's configurable, either hold both fingers while clicking the button; or, if you have tap-to-click on, just tap with both fingers.)

LED is great, but i think a smaller form factor will get me to buy a new MBP.

i'm getting tired of dragging my MBP to skool. MBP + sleeve don't allow much space for books in my backpack.

If they have LED Backlite display then il buy straight away.

If it is just a boost in spec, then il have to think about it.

Anyone care to guess on how a LED display would affect the price ?

I currently have a regular Macbook (see sig) and i love it. However, if there was a 12 or 13 inch macbook pro released, I think that my macbook would be ebayed quickly. I considered saving up the extra cash for the 15 inch pro but I had decided way before that I wanted something a bit more compact. I therefore couldn't really justify the money for something that wasn't quite what I wanted. Thats my 2 cents. :D

I would jump in. Seriously need an upgrade for my rev A PB 12" that btw has worked impeccably for more than four years.

LED screens should make the MBP thinner and lighter than before right?

It would be nice to see a significant difference.
