Are you guys disappointed Apple has decided not to include too many jazzy features in iOS 12 and instead work on making it, ironing some of the bugs, well not really the bugs but kind of polish iOS 12. I would have loved if Apple had included some handy, new features in iOS 12 !

These are not (all) in my wish list, but predictions, what Apple could really do:
This year 2018 (maybe March already?)
- Discontinue iPad Mini
- New iPad SE, a cheaper version of iPad Mini. A9 in the casing of iPad mini 3. Pricing starts at $249.
- New iPad Pro 8, 8.2" OLED, FaceID, Apple pen support, A11, starts at $799
- The rest of the lineup gets updates in July. No OLED for 10.5 and 12.9 this year. Apple wants to give the iPad Pro 8 some prime time.

No one said they wouldn't add some nifty new features... they said they would allow project leaders to hold back features that weren't ready for prime time. There could be some cool stuff still ready for the release... take a deep breath and let's see what comes out.

The current iPad mini form factor with less bezel like the 10.5" Pro, quad speaker like the Pro, Pencil support, 6GB RAM, whatever latest SoC and camera on iPhone, and TouchID.
Why TouchID? iPads imo still needs a bit of bezel at least on 2 sides for better usability, and if there's a space, why not keep TouchID.

Because no one wants a Touch ID !! Period !!

Three sizes: 7.9", 10.5" and 12.9". Smaller bezels on each of them (like on the 10.5" Pro).
Support for iPencil and a version Smart Keyboard for each.
Adding USB-C would be very useful, since this is where other Apple mobile devices are going.
A lot of work on iOS, e.g., with a better support for the file system (iOS 11 helped, but still, I struggle to do many things that should be very easy).

so basically you want to ditch the old lines and make an iPad Pro Mini. I'd actually be okay with that. but I would like to see 4K support at least on the 12 inch, a better backlight etc for outdoor use and perhaps storage up to 1TB. oh and fix the smart keyboard issue. i'm tired of having to replace my keyboard every two months

What features, size, chip, ram, camera etc would be your ultimate iPad? Mine, 12 inch OLED 4K screen, camera set from iPhone 8 Plus center at the top. A11X bionic chip set with 6 gigs of ram, keep the home button. 12000Mah battery. And give it a flat black case option with white Apple logo.

Switch between LED and e-Ink display if possible.

I do not see or read any news on the Internet that iOS 12 would have something special, it looks like a plain, vanilla kind of iOS with no real groundbreaking features Android seems to be dishing out more and more features one after another. iOS needs to catch up !!

History will back me on this... Apple doesn't always show it's entire hand before they come to show and tell time... It could be nothing (which has happened before as well) or it could be full of little Easter eggs you haven't imagined nor has anyone else uncovered yet. They may actually make it something completely new that blows your socks off... they may not. But no one knows but Apple at this point.

So, history will back you up in your claim that, "it could be nothing, could be something, and no one but Apple knows"? Does anyone doubt that?:D

This thread is a fantasy thread not one of predictions. What would the next iPad look like if YOU could tell Apple what to do?

Please add a pen (that is more compact and can be easily stored); and PLEASE overhaul the interface (such as access to settings, menus, widgets, etc.). The interface has been building upon old ideas for too long, and it's time for a massive refresh.

15 inches OLED
Aluminum back
Headphone Jack
Home Button
Optional Face ID
8 GB Ram
Minimal Notches/ Bezels

If the rumors regarding the new iPad Pro are true i would be really happy. But there is two things that would take it one step further. Include a 29w charger and also support 15W+ QI wireless charging.

Make it and their phones more customizable like Android. Still isnt up to snuff with those and if it were, maybe id be more apt to buy them. I did get a 2017 iPad 9.7"(don't need or care for the pen so didn't need the Pro) and like it but iOS still isnt as good as Android as far as features and customizing it. Maybe its because im not familiar with it but so far iMessage to me is useless since nobody in my family has it.

Ditch iOS for a tablet version of OSX.

Or some kind of hybrid that makes more sense than what we have now. Mobile apps and experiences are not as productive for me (frustratingly so) and until they bridge that gap my MacBook/Pro will always be my go to.

Google is very close to something with their latest Chromebook. It's close. I mean really close to what should be the laptop/tablet experience. I hope Apple follows suit.

4GB RAM minimum on all models
Cheaper cellular support. The $130 upcharge is brutal. How about $50 bucks?
Different screen options to help control costs better for those that dont need the best screens
Stay with 9.7" size & the $12.9" size. The 10.5" pro is a great device but that little extra screen hardly seems worth it and just lets them charge more.

1. 11.5 or 12” screen. Same form-factor as current 10.5” Pro, but screen to body in excess of 90%
2. LED, not OLED, unless OLED can achieve ProMotion 120hz and have no more propensity for burn in than LED
3. Two models: a Pro model with 6gb ram/A12X/256gb and a Pro Pro or Pro^2 model with 16gb/A12X/1TB.
4. Digital AV in over lightning, and if no USB-C, at least give lightning TB3 equivalent performance of 40Gbps
5. Titanium and carbon fiber chassis for greater strength and lower weight
6. 3D Touch
7. A logo on the back that’s made of something other than the most scratch prone material ever seen on Apple hardware besides the backs of iPods and Apple’s white plastics
8. A reliable build of iOS
9. Samsung DEX-like dock option to run an ARM-compatible build of macOS with a monitor, but maybe wirelessly
10. Apple Pencil with better battery life/charging/materials
11. A proper, USB-C charging brick in the box
12. FaceID, but only if it can be used in portrait and landscape orientation, unlike iPhone X
13. Better productivity features in iOS 12 and beyond

Suggestion 1: Copy WestWorld.

The Westworld Tablet is a tri-fold design that is opened to display the amount of screen you need. If its a phone call then you just need one panel. If youre showing a small amount of info then you use two panels. And if you need a full tablet then you unfold it completely.

Obviously this is "Sci-Fi Special Effects" but the concept still holds true. Tablets need more versatility in increasing and decreasing surface area. So, while we wouldn't have a paper thin accordion tablet just yet. The iPad is thin enough that carrying a small brick might be an ideal choice for some users.

Suggestion 2:
Improve Siri.

If youre just going to stick with stale old slab designs then at least fix Siri. Apple completely squandered their lead in this technology and their lack of development has made people think "Amazon is great at Voice stuff!". But that isnt true and I really think that Apple could have revolutionized user interfaces if they actually put effort into improving what they started.

That is some truly unusably small text on that tablet!

I love my iPad Pro 10.5. If it got universal mouse support an an Esc key on the smart keyboard it would be perfect for me.
