If you think I'm dancing around then you clearly lack comprehension skills, for I always heard about how iPhones have the most secure and best OS, support and easy of use, trying to prove your point you try to lure people to Apple with those arguments and now trying to prove your false point of phones being a fancy luxury item you come up with arguments like there are cheaper options? The more you talk the more we can tell you agree that iPhones are meant for rich elites, which isn't true but unfortunately with these high prices it's starting to be. Don't come up with cheaper alternative excuses because you use that argument to make seem like phones are not a necessity nowadays which isn't true. Try to stay without a phone for a month and tell me again how phones are luxury items.

How old are you? I’m not the only person in this thread that has responded to you and you immediately attack people personally with things like “you lack comprehension skills.” Try to have a civilized discussion.

In regard to your comment about trying to live without a phone for a month, anyone could live without a phone for a month because it is not a necessity. Sure, you might not be able to Facebook or Snapchat your friends, but you won’t die because of it. As much as I love technology (particularly my phone) I hope I never get to the point where I feel my life would end if I didn’t have a phone.

Try living without food for a month and let me know how that works out. Food is a necessity. Shelter is a necessity. Phones are not.

Of course . But it's the same price with 64gb, and what i am telling is that today 64gb it's a lot cheaper than last year.
And look what i said before with this example:
Iphone Xs Max 64gb-$1000
Iphone Xs Max 512-$1450
So, you see that they are charging $450 for 512gb that cost exact the same to produce, except for the storage . They are charging $1 dolar for each Gb almost , that is expensive.
Like i said before , this is not like a car it's a component that GETS CHEAPER each year.
Seriously why does someone need 512 on a phone.
Now 64 vs 256 is apple marketing.
Seeing phones all day most people are running around with 35 to 50 gig on their phone.
Is 64 enough sure if you want to manage it. But most seemingly opt for the 256 upgrade.
Then there’s the cloud. Wouldn’t it make sense to have higher tiers, sure apple marketing.

We are dealing with a knowledgeable creative marketing team, sexy commercials, and a boring 2 hour keynote to tell us your old phone is garbage.

Personally I look forward to every years new intros. For the most part the 7 is sufficient for me. On the other hand I like playing with the newer gadgets

"The point is the crazy high prices we are coming to, phones nowadays are actually a necessity and I don’t see a phone as a luxury item as a Rolex since it can be considered as fashion."

"In the day and age that we live phones are necessity technological tool for our daily lives"

"Not everyone is able to afford such high prices, so people will be left out of the smartphone market for such greedy pricing practices?"

Don't tell me an iPhone can't be considered a phone or smartphone? You guys are just taking my arguments your own way, you're only seeing what you want to see...
I don't even understand where you are going with this.

My comment says: No smartphone is a must-have unless your very specific business model revolves around products for a smartphone.

I also state, the iPhone or any portable phone is a luxury. Whether that means a luxury because of the cost or a luxury because it is an extra non-needed item.
In this day and age and technological whatever, I am very capable of functioning personal and professionally 100% without a smartphone. Now a phone in general such as my landlines, I do need. So just a simple phone with the ability to receive and make phone calls is needed simply because I need an avenue for communication.

The ONLY time a smartphone plays any significant role is if my internet plus land line system are 100% down. And I need to forward calls to a cellular phone. (Which can be done on a non-smartphone)
Then IF this happens it means of a fairly substantial power outage which also takes out any local cellular towers. Which then renders smartphone almost useless.
In 14 years of business only twice have I needed to forward incoming calls to a cell phone and one of those two times the outage was so severe, the cell towers were also out so we were completely disconnected unless I drove a few miles away to connect to another tower or to another office location.

So no, I am not taking this and narrowing down the view to fit just myself. Almost all of our cities networking still occurs face to face and business cards are changed hands and real deals still also occur face to face.
Sure emails and cell phone calls help facilitate meetings and get togethers but is not NEEDED to do it. They are a luxury.
And one I could perform on a flip phone.

Now do I personally want to use a flip phone. Not really. I am grateful to have the ability to have a want item.
Could I or would I still know how to function day to day without any form of cell phone? Yes.
