This is THE question you have to ask yourself, to what end is your goal? I put in a lot of time and effort for a couple of years to get 800 followers and finally came to the realization that it made no real difference in my photography or where I wanted to go with it.

If you really want to get anywhere without some sort of huge account tagging you, you're going to need to pay for advertising or a social media company work it all the time. It's the unfortunate reality of it and I've basically stopped putting time into it as a result.

Frankly, I've had way more success on sites like Reddit and FB Groups by sharing images of local landscapes and cityscapes. If your photos are good, they'll get noticed.

Friend of mine says “It has never been so easy to be seen, yet so hard to be noticed.”

I know right! Wonderful images that should be printed huge and hanging on a BIG wall.
you are very good for my ego. ?

I did actually just get a big print this week! Not a flower, but still. I so rarely do nice prints that it is actually worth mentioning. We celebrated our 20th anniversary on Wednesday, and this is the view from where we go apple picking every year. In the valley below is where my husband went to business school. Some day I will make and print a nice photo from the campus, but in the meantime, I had this done. It is 10" tall x 45" wide. Our house is very open concept so we haven't yet found a wide enough spot to put it! But we will hunt harder this weekend. ?

Yeah, open floor plans are quite popular these days, but are not so photographer friendly! We have a different problem. We rented for a few years and got in the habit of minimal wall hanging. Now we own again and have a fair amount of wall space, but we’ve kept the minimalist trend up. I need to start printing some stuff!
