Hey everyone,

I've just released iJailBreakMobile, which lets you upgrade your iPhone or iPod touch to a jailbroken 1.1.3 over the air, from 1.1.1 or 1.1.2! You can find more info at http://ijailbreak.com/

Locate Me work nor not?

Question is:

Is Google Maps "Locate Me" still rendered broken in this jailbreak?

Still waiting for a very reliable, no side affects jailbreak...

Should be, since the baseband isn't touched.

i used natetrue's method, and there is a seaperate app called "locate me" which does the triangulation and sends the info to maps.

download failed...

also getting the download failed from installer. Did you pull the app?

does this only work on legit iphones locked to their original carrier? (ie, att, o2 etc..)

1) anyone confirm if this works on 1.1.1 sim unlocked (& jailbroken) iphones?

2) does it have a fully working new google maps app?

thanks

Some details

Do you mind being more specific on:

Ringtones?
E-mail Passwords?
Passcode?
Wifi Passwords?
EDGE?

I've already tried upgrading to 1.1.3 but downgraded because of these.

Thanks

Not working

1- I get ERROR - PACKAGE DOWNLOAD FAILED when clicking on iJailBreakMobile 1.1.1
2- Does this work on Network Unlocked phones?
3- Do all apps work well on 1.1.3?
4- Does Google Maps still not work on other networks? (Locate Me does a decent job of it apart from showing a pushpin instead of a circle like the Google Maps)

I'd love to upgrade but first I need to be able to download the thing and second I want to make sure that it's worth it all.

Thanks!

There are huge issues with the Dev team's and Nate's releases (which this 'one step' release is based on) - just look at 't0sh forums and it is riddled with problems for 1.1.3 - it is a very unstable release and I know of at least 20 people personally who upgraded, had issues, and went back to 1.1.2.

Not disregarding all the hard work that has gone into these updates whatsoever - without it we wouldn't be where we are today - but be warned that this release is no where near as solid as previous releases - I would definitely wait until the SDK comes out to see how it affects the current batch of jailbreaks. (and what tricks both Apple and the Dev team have up their sleeves....)

OK, i think i am going to wait for the SKD update, i REALLY don't want to wreck my well functioning 1.1.1 unlocked iPhone!

Sounds a li'l dodgy

Not a single positive outcome from anyone here who has tried...

It's quite logical to wait for a month for the SDK to release guys

Cheers

I did Dev team update (tutorial on modmyifone.com) and work perfectly for me. Everything working, including Google Maps Locate Me and Installer.

Just pay attention to every detail they say and read the whole foruns, and be patient. I even did twice and both were successful! People complaining is because they don't read and do stuff quickly.

For me it is totally worth it, now I have my 1.1.3 unlock iphone with edit homescreen, tons of 3rd party apps and a pretty good pseudo GPS (the circle pointed exactly to my house!).

No complains, 100% awesome, thanks again dev team.

I have 1.1.2 sim unlocked with Anysim and of course Jailbroken.

If I try this out, well, has anyone? I generally don't trust 13 year olds, because I play Halo 3 a lot which is rated-M for Mature. Sneaky bastards. Don't worry, I didn't like myself until I turned 18.

What works, what doesn't?
From what I can tell this doesn't touch the baseband, so I should be fine, right?

I have used BossTools to move my fonts, programs and ringtones to the other partition on 1.1.2. Is that a problem with this upgrade.

Will the Google maps thing work?
Movie rentals?
From what I can tell, I would have to kiss SummerBoard Prefs and Customize goodbye?
How about my T-Zones? I think Boss has a fix for that right?

By the way, can I upgrade to 7.6 so that I can actually try out this movie rentals business? Is that safe for the phone? I'm on 7.5.

Well, you may not trust me because I am 13, but I can assure you that this works. Your symlinks will not be a problem with 1.1.3, simply run BossTool again and symlink again once you are on 1.1.3, and you can get all of your old Applications/Ringtones/etc back again :)

It won't touch the baseband, so any unlocks will stay in place :)
Movie Rentals will work from a 1.1.2 upgrade, although I can't guarantee that they will work if you are upgrading from 1.1.1. A patch for that will likely be out soon however.

Good work on the installer mate, but one big problem.

It seems that the iPhone has completed the process, but is now stuck on this screen which shows 2 things; the iPhone "usb" cable, and an arrow pointing to iTunes (which I assume would tell me to connect to iTunes)

I can't get past the damn thing. I read around and tried using iBrickr and typed in "iphoneinterface" from the command line but it doesn't seem to be able to pick up the iPhone when it is connected to the bay. Nor does iTunes for that matter. Any ideas?

edit: Did some more research. I did a few things and got it working to connect to the computer but iBrickr can't get to the boot screen. Looks like I am going to have to downgrade to 1.0.2 now. *sigh*

ok...I am working with my 1.1.1 jailbroken iPhone...downloaded the app and ran the 1.1.1 version...
After about 3 minutes all I see is a bunch of code that says: upgrade var/root/media/1.1.3/1n: Permission Denied after each line and now it just stopped...should I restart? Did it not work?
My iPhone has been jailbroken at 1.1.1 for 2 months now and absolutely no problems...

OUCH :(
This is the reason why I am hesitant to upgrade..

I almost pull the trigger and then a small voice reminds me that nothing is wrong with my 1.1.1 phone and there isn't THAT much worth upgrading to in 1.1.3..

Good luck with your 1.0.2 and then 1.1.1 upgrade..

man, that sucks too... :(
Did you try powering off your phone and then back on again?

When you say "3 minutes", is that after it has downloaded the ~150mb file from Apple? or while it is downloading?

Hope you both get your problems sorted.
