Why what's wrong with them?
There are too many bugs, with every update one or two get squashed and new one’s are introduced. So not sure this is something related to software or newly rushed out hardware…

Bugs are as small as some of the UI icons not displayed properly to as big as screen getting frozen. And recently I went to a zoo with my kid and was clicking pics and suddenly my phone became so slow that it was taking time to even open camera. It was taking at least 4 to 5 seconds just to open up a camera. I have done a restart and the ui was responsive again. There are few more issues with UI here and there.
Heat dissipation is less efficient which has adverse affects while gaming or video editing as compared to previous year phones. This maybe because of more powerful chip but not adding good passive cooling system.

And then comes one of the main point of attraction - cameras. Photos comes out to be over-sharpened with some fake hdr effect. But when it comes to video the case is totally different, it outputs one of the best videos from a smartphone. So definitely there is some issue with the software tuning.

So these type of things are not expected of Apple.

I was looking at getting the 14 pro for the SOS features

Has anyone else had these experiences??

The 13 pro / pro max is on the top of my list, would really prefer one under $600 that isn't a 12/13 mini. Any suggestions?
Edit: I've held a regular 13 and its small in my hand, so i'm really leaning toward a 13PM as I want a big phone.
The iPhone 14 Plus would be perfect for you but it is definitely NOT under $600. With this budget, your only really going to be able to get one of the 6.1" models like a 13, as your probably going to struggle to find a 13 PM at that price.

I said the pro max

But at 6’ 170-180lbs with matching hands, the huge iPhones don’t fit my hands well, it’s funny the majority of men I see with the huge phones tend to be smaller

Ah fair enough; at 6ft 4 and 134kg and competitive powerlifter/idiot stone lifter 😂 I've shovel like hands; so the PM is the perfect size for me personally...

Its very much seeming like a 256GB Sierra Blue 13PM is gonna be $800+. And i've joked about the 14+ already, though i would like the crash detection and satellite SOS. Maybe i'll wait for the 15 to make 13PM prices drop......

For me that would then make more sense to go for a 14PM

TBH iPhones retain their value well; hell of a lot better than any Android handset ever does

I'd go for the phone now and then look to sell it if you ever decide to upgrade...

It’s not so much the hands as it’s cramming all that stuff into your pockets

Yeah, but the thought of paying $800+ for a 1.5 year old 13 Pro Max is not sticking with me.

13 Pro Max will definitely be much cheaper. But go for the 14 Pro Max or maybe wait till the 15 series launch. The 14 Pro Max may be available at a discount at some sellers then. The normal 14 models (non Pro) are also good.

Get the newest you can afford for the best features & longevity, 12 series or later.

You may find iPhone 14/14 plus with 128gb for around £700 and these will still have apple warranty remaining.

Stretch your budget or add to it and get a 14 Pro or wait until the 15 comes out and that will push used prices down on both the 14 and 13.

Why not get a iPhone 14 on a payment plan then you can all so get a Apple Watch to go with it

I pay for my phones all at once, and I don't really want to switch to a different carrier. Honestly it seems i'll just have to either pay $750+ for the 13PM or wait for the 15PM/Ultra and get that.

I would just wait it out if you can or if you want to you can pick up a iPhone SE 3rd gen and just used that tell the iPhone 15 models come out
