I bought the iPhone 6 64gb outright from the apple site on release and currently love it. Suits me perfectly. I am also due for a phone upgrade from my carrier so I was wondering what you guys think I should do. I wouldn't mind getting an android phone on the side and switching between my iPhone. Any suggestion? I was looking at the LG G3 and the Galaxy Note 4. Also waiting for the next flagship android phone is a possibility because I'm not in need of a second phone, its simply a free upgrade lol

Anyone?

The Note 4 is a great choice, really showcases what can be done on Android as far as software and hardware features, software can be clunky at times but has been vastly improved.

If you want a more stock experience, take a look at the Moto X, Nexus 6, both are already on lollipop which is the best version of android I have used. You could also get an HTC One M8 on the cheap, it's still a great phone, has the same specs as the Moto X, and should get lollipop shortly. Or you could convert it to stock.

You could also wait for the M9/GS6 to come out in a couple of months, both are rumored to run on the newer 64-bit S810 Processor.

I would never buy any none stock android devices. So for me, I am just looking at Nexus 6, Moto X 2014. Anything else is not on my list. If you do not care, I would opt for G3. I will never consider Samsung phone, TouchWiz is just pain to use.

I used a galaxy S5 for a few months and didn't mind it, only issue i had was that it felt cheap. If build quality improves I might as upgrade to one. Any idea on when those devices seems to come out? or is it random? PS I'm from waterloo as well. Small word

You'd recommend an LG over TW due to UX:eek:? LG is by far the most convoluted version of Android. Talk about drops in frame rate, stutters and lack of cohesion. Not intuitive at all.

I'd say it's a toss up between LG and Touchwiz. LG's is better designed, but Samsungs seems more polished, the added features seem to work better. Both have the same level of stutter and frame drops in my expierence.

Personally i would hold off until CES on January 6-9. There will be a ton of announcements. There might be something you might want to wait for. Then maybe not and you can get what you want. Otherwise I would choose the Note 4 over the G3.......

I have my sights set on the HTC M9. Rumors have it that it will have an upgraded camera (13 or 20 MP) depending on which site you read.

i wasn't impressed with the m7 or m8 camera at all. Best camera I've used yet on any cellular device has been my iPhone. Even my old iPhone 4 took better photos

This.

Since you already have an iPhone 6, I wouldn't rush and just wait to see what those three are bringing around March-ish...

Nah...G3 is better designed phone over all. It looks better han any Samsung phones and it is not too large and overall polish is better than Samsung phone.

How do you get a free upgrade? Upgrades on my ATT plan result in the loss of a 25 dollar a month subsidy.

What carrier and plan do you have? My contract is due to expire in July and I'm open to switching from Bell if there is something better.

I'm with Rogers, been with them for 5+ years so i have built up a reputation.A friend of mine works for rogers and told me all carriers here in canada started to switch to a different policy and all carriers now basically offer the same plans with different variants after Verizon scare. Basically contracts are now 2 years instead of 3 and theres different policies on upgrades as well. There isn't a flat rate anymore, its now a flex tab. So i wouldn't recommend switching because chances are you already have a better DATA plan if you have been with Bell for a few years. Also if you do end up switching, don't make the mistake of going with WIND. My brother had and was his biggest mistake. Theres a boat load of reasons why WIND is one of the worst but I won't go into it in this post lol.

PS; you're in a better situation if your contract is about to expire, now..you can basically get on the phone and demand services to an extent and chances are you might get a free phone out of it.

I'd go with a Note 4 as it will compliment your iPhone 6.
You can have best of both worlds.

And as you already know, there is nothing wrong with TouchWiz. It's fast and has a lot more features that you can Choose to use or not. I don't get the people that hate on TW. I prefer options rather than having none on stock Android.

The tech geek in me would say to wait for a major new release in 2015 from one of the big OEMs (or even small ones). The Galaxy S6/HTC m9 is slated in spring. Why not wait and see what's out there that is coming. Then again, you may also wait all the way to September for the 6S Plus

If it was me, I'd get the Note 4 right now and then possibly sell either phone later in 2015 if something more interesting showed up.

But then I have been drooling over that phone just as much as the iPhone 6 Plus (which I currenty own and love), so choosing just one of them was a bit painful for me :D
