Does the OP not understand that Android and iOS are two different operating systems? It seems that he/she thinks just because a product works one way that every other product has to be the same.

I'll give you a fairly simple answer as to why an iDevice running iOS will almost always run better than an Android device running the same specs. Wait for it....it's coming...are you ready?....iOS is a home screen with icons! Yes. Did you get that? I don't think I need to repeat myself.

Android is more power hungry than iOS simply because it does more. It's much more than a home screen with icons. There is actually multitasking, unlike on iOS where apps are suspended. As someone already mentioned, Android is more like a mini-PC, whereas iOS is simply an operating system with apps.

I seriously wonder what you consider to be a smooth experience on an OS. Any modern Android smartphone released within the last year should work just fine, possibly even on par with the iPhone.

"the os isn't ready yet and it sells to mainly tech nerds who no offense will change phones underwear or cheapskates on prepaid like metro or boost and so forth." You're kidding me. The OS isn't ready yet? Oh yeah, it's just about miles ahead of iOS in terms of functionality and features. It sells to mainly tech nerds and what the hell was that last part? Better tech nerds than snobs who think they're so great because they have the newest Apple product! Go ahead, spend your thousands of dollars every few months buying an upgrade to the processor and a thinner design! You seriously sound like some idiot who was spoiled during childhood.

I really didn't mean to flame either operating systems, Apple, and whatever/whoever else but I guess it got outta hand? I really wasn't about to post anything and ignore this post like every other one until I got to the part where the OP said "it sells to mainly tech nerds who no offense will change phones underwear or cheapskates on prepaid like metro or boost and so forth." To sum it all up, the OP knows next nothing about how Android works and its capabilities, and therefore should stick to iOS where "everything just works."

My ipad 3 (less than one year old) lags and crashes alot more than my android phone.

With the s pen and large screen my note 2 definitely is easier for spreadsheets and the like than my old iphone. Not sure how an iphone could be better and I had them for 5 years.

Well I admit I'd use my phone for such tasks at a pinch only. I just sign, scan, fax some documents using my phone sometimes...I think I'd use a laptop or simply a piece of paper for things like spreadsheets.

Can i just pose a question...

Why does it matter if a phone needs a powerful processor and a fair mount of ram to run smoothly? At the end of the day, high end android phones do run smoothly and that's the end of it.

It doesn't matter what's under the hood as long as things are fast on the screen.

Then use Blackberry or Android.

It matters to spec-whores. :)

What a wonderfully irrelevant anecdote. :)

how is it irrelevant if in the original post he was complaining that his android tablet was less than 2 years old and laggy??

Because you've given no data to back it up. It reminded me of those 5 year olds at the park arguing back and forth over "no it didn't!" and "yes it did!"

Apple phones at least run decent enough to be operable for at least 2 years. Yes apple 4 can't run maps and a couple other features but its still a usual device but you cannot say that about older android devices.

I had a Eco design it comes with 2.3 and once it updated to ics it became too slow to use and I had to sell it. I respect Samsung for upping the bar but I'm wondering how would the one x and the Motorola phone with one gig memory perform with key lime pie. Lets not forager the thunderbolt debacle.

While iOS is boring and everyday I kinda want to toss it away I won't lie. I'm scared to buy a android phone simply for the fact that I don't know how the next major update would go and that keeps me content with my iPhone.

I get offers from s3 owners everyday asking me if I want to trade my iPhone for the s3 but I know that the value declines big time on android.

I are the note 2 retains value though.

I also see a lot of a droid central members in the market place looking for iPhones lets admit all isn't good in android land.

Most of the defectors are just tired of the same ole same ole bit all isn't gravy on the other side.

Is there a point here?
