Hmmm...you'd think that I live in the Bay Area, we would have a genius at our local FRYS (why we don't have a single Apple store that's less than 30 minutes away is beyond me

).
Ahh...you meant take pictures/names of the "genius" who came to the door.
Yellow screens? Now you've lost me yet again.
I don't know about frys, I liked them when I lived in Baldwin Hills, but they always seemed kind of on the "not so in the know side", and they seemed to specialize in open box and refurb stuff. But that was seven years ago.
The Compusa that I went to in LA, where I bought my first DP 450 in 2000, always had a well informed Mac specialist that was on the payroll of apple and not Compusa, that sold the Macs and helped us out when we had questions. But I think that was before they called them geniuses.
In Nebraska, where I live (mostly now, still have a place in LA), at the Compusa we used to have up until a couple of months ago, we had a great older gentleman, who I actually met in 2001 at the Compusa in LA. He left that Compusa about a month after the Apple Store in Omaha opened up. That Compusa is no longer in business. (for good reasons)
I wish he was still available. The geniuses at or local apple store are, well, not up to their names, and think that since we just got an apple store here in Omaha, we are all just newbie switchers, thank god I really don't need to talk to them that much.
Too bad about the apple store man, I feel for you, but my apple store is about 35 minutes away, but thats not too bad, but that is the only reason I don't try to get a job there. (part-time for fun, and discounts

)
Sorry, the yellow screen was about the SR macbooks problems saying that a problem (weird stuff) doesn't have to be hardware (or tech based at all), I may have been out of line a little bit, sorry for that one.
Maybe we should just PM each other, I think we ranted each other out last week on a thread.
I think that was the longest post I have ever had.
