I'm STUPID!! (apple remote incident...)

Ok...i am really stupid and totally deserve the consequences...but can anyone help... I accidently washed my apple remote in the washing machine...is there anything i can do? Has anyone else done this...i wish there was a little slot for it in my macbook...

It sucks because showing off front row on my macbook was so much fun...

Yeah I don't recommend lying either.

Just buy a new one...they aren't that expensive to stress out about. At least you didn't wash your macbook.

It was fun to play with for a short time but I really do not find myself using it much after the first month or so.

Okay, you are NOT stupid. I can't count the number of times I took things diving with me that were water unfriendly.

I've only used the remote for two reasons. Once I took the laptop to the cottage and used it as a DVD player, but I LOVE to use it with iAlert to get the Car Alarm Activated sound. Brings out my inner geek exhibitionist.

Is showing off worth a $30 replacement? Your call, my friend.

Hahahahah, come ON! It's a fricking apple Remote! They probably won't even ask any questions at the apple store, be like, "it stopped working" bing- new one! After paying so much for the laptop.

We obviously lack integrity since we're getting a replacement piece of plastic from apple.

Sorry, I meant iAlertU. It's a utility that uses the MacBook Pro's built in motion sensor like a car alarm. I only installed the beta, but it is fun to show off.

Apple didn't break your remote, you did. If you want to make them pay to replace your mistake, you might get away with it, but you're still dishonest. Have fun with that.

Let it dry for a few days, it will work. An Apple Store employee told me that I can wash my wireless keyboard in the dishwasher. She said to take the batteries out and DO NOT use dishwashing detergent. Wash it by itself. Let it dry for a few days and it will be very clean and it will work.
