I sold my 17" mbp because I think its overkill for me since I already have a Mac Pro.. the mba would be used as just websurfing mostly but I'm thinking about either getting the mba next week or wait for an update to the next mba/macbooks... what do you guys think??

I'm in the same boat as you. I now have a 8 core Mac Pro, and now my MacBook just kinda hangs around. I hop on it just to kill time, surf the web, check email. Nothing intense. I'm usually on it when the wife is hogging the Mac Pro.

So I'd love to eBay the MacBook and pick up the Air. I know it'll be purely a luxury item in the sense that I don't really need it. I just want one!

Since I;m not in dire need for a laptop, I think I should wait until the next revision. Perhaps we'll see a 2.0 CPU and a 120G single platter hdd.

Have you considered an eee pc?
I can't fathom why anyone would want to spend $1799 just for web browsing.
iChat, Keynote, Pages, Numbers, Mail, Colloquy, Fluid, NewsFire, all those Apps that only run on OS X. Seriously, this answer applies to every form of the question "Why spend XXX$ more for a Mac". It's because of OS X.

he said he only was going to use it for light browsing and another computer would be used for all the fancy OS X things. Seriously most browsers are basically the same, as they should be, so what OS you use shouldn't matter.
