Hello everyone,

This is my first post.

I own a mid-2010 21.5" iMac with a 3.06 GHz Intel Core i3-540 CPU and a very bad ATI Radeon HD 4670 256 MB.

Checking forums, I made the following update

I3-540 CPU by Xeon L3426

I read that adding the processor would have the possibility of 32gb of ram

I put 4 8Gb memory

I also exchanged the Radeon HD 4670 GPU for K3100m 4GB

Problems

In the exchange of the cpu he did not recognize the Xeon name and recognizes only 2 nuclei instead of 4 nuclei

It also does not recognize the 32gb of total ram, it recognizes only 16gb (two combs on the right side)

GPU working perfectly but the sink doesn't pick up the whole board but I haven't used it yet to know if it will heat up too much

Has anyone ever had similar problems or do you know anyone who has??

Any opinion or suggestion will be very useful.

Thank you in advance!

Suggestion:
Replace the Xeon with a Core i7-870 and your RAM and cores problem may be solved.
