Ahhhhhh, you guys are EVIL (Kronen especially)!

And this is how I spread my evil across the land...one SSD drive owner at a time! :p

Seriously though, Gordovision, you are going to love the SSD despite the delayed delivery.

Cheers! :apple:
[doublepost=1496948455][/doublepost]Woo-hoo!

My credit card was just charged and my order changed to Preparing for Shipment.

(FYI: I placed my order about 15 minutes after the store came back up following the WWDC keynote.)

I'm in Europe, ordered within four hours after the reveal. Paid for express shipping, supposed the ship earliest by tomorrow (the 9th).

In a way it seems like no rhyme or reason for the order these are shipped. I seem to recall similar stuff going on last time they updated the imac.

Still processing even though I was told I would get it today the 9th (NZ day ahead) I'm Screen Shot 2017-06-09 at 8.28.06 AM.png sad :(

Agreed. Every preorder I have done leaves us scratching our heads on these forums as to why later orders sometimes ship before earlier orders. The short answer seems to be that orders generally ship in the order they were received...with exceptions.

And of course those exceptions leave us pulling out our hair when it is our particular order that is stuck in Processing-Items-limbo. Such are the tribulations of being obsessive about Apple products.

Yes, I will. Your post, as well as a few others in other threads swayed me. Being delayed by one or two days from the original order, even if it ends up being delivered on the Monday, is fine by me.

And it shipped! I'm including the shipping info below as a data point for you to compare and contrast with your orders. A few interesting tidbits:

1) It's the first time I remember a pre-order BTO shipping from California. If I'm not mis-remembering, all of my previous BTOs shipped from China (previous iMac and MBP BTOS, as well as most of my non-BTO pre-orders like iPhones and Apple Watches).

2) It's listed as shipping via FedEx Ground and thus the arrival date is next Wednesday (six days). It's been my experience that when shipping products at launch Apple tends to under-promise and over-deliver, so we'll see if that delivery date moves up by a few days. Fingers crossed!

Interesting. Maybe Apple is doing quality checks onsite for the first couple of units? Fremont is minutes away from Apple's HQ.

Mine was just marked as shipped & scheduled to arrive tomorrow morning! Shipping to CA. I'd still be surprised if it actually made it before I go to work.

Status change to "Preparing for Shipment". Ordered about 30 mins after the store went back online. Place of delivery will be Berlin, Germany.

Update:
Aaaaand now (4h later) it's shipped. UPS tracking number is available but not yet in UPS' system.

How about buying the lowest config iMac and put a Pentium G4600 in the box, I'm curious if that's possible

Thought it would be good to start a thread just for shipping data.

Please indicate your ordered set up, when you ordered and the ship date provided, where you are shipping it to and of course, info on when the status changes / delivered!

I ordered mine on June 6, evening (little more than 24 hours after the keynote), June 14-16 was the estimate. Still in Processing, shipping to Portland, Oregon.

For those of you obsessively checking your delivery status while waiting for your new 2017 iMac (obviously, I am not refreshing my FedEx browser window every 10 minutes... No way!... But just in case you are... :D):

My BTO iMac originated at Fremont, California (rather than China, from where my BTO Macs have previously shipped), and since it is shipping via FedEx and since I live just south of the international FedEx hub in Memphis, Tennessee, I expected my iMac to catch a flight from San Francisco to Memphis this weekend.

However, as you can see from the map below, my iMac is now in the middle-of-nowhere California in a place called--literally––Lost Hills!

I'm sure it will arrive by its scheduled delivery date of Wednesday, 14 June 2017, but the route it is taking is giggle-inducing.

Just sharing my experiences in case you too are monitoring a bizarre delivery trajectory for your new iMac.

Cheers everyone!

Just ordered mine after my Late 2012 27" iMac sadly left me last week (logic board gone). I will upgrade RAM later.

I was ordering.....in fact did order the 15” MacBook but then looked at the benefits of the iMac and that it was sooo much cheaper. So pulled the trigger on this.......

27” 5k middle one (stock) it’s been 7 years since I has a iMac so looking forward to this beast!

I used my wife’s student discount. So got 10% off.

Should be here Tuesday (UK)

Apple shipped BTO iMacs from California back in late 2012 and more since then.
I received one back then, a 27. My understanding is a small percentage. Most are from China.
Don't know about other products, other than the Pro, which comes from Texas.

I didn't know that. Thanks very much for the historical context, thedeske!
[doublepost=1497233681][/doublepost]An update on my goofy delivery route.

I guess my new iMac suffers from aviophobia: Eschewing airplanes, it is apparently making its cross-country trip by truck. Since it stopped yesterday in Lost Hills, California, today I've followed it through Winslow, Arizona, and Texola, Oklahoma, as it travels east along Interstate 40.

So as my iMac ventures down the open highways of the American southwest, I've been putting together a trucking playlist in Apple Music. So far...

Grateful Dead "Truckin'"
Jerry Reed "Eastbound and Down"
CW MacCall "Convoy"
Alabama "Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler)"
Ronnie Milsap "Prisoner of the Highway"
Eddie Rabbit "Driving My Life Away"

(By the way, I never claimed that they were actually good songs.:p)

Can you think of any others?
