As I've posted before, 8gb is not enough for any m-series Mac.

"16gb is 'the new 8'..."
8 GB is perfect for people who:

1. Use standard office programs (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Pages)
2. Use graphic editing or movie making software for fun and who don't care about how long something takes to complete.

8 GB is not perfect for those who:

1. Want multiple memory intensive programs open at once (Photoshop/ Illustrator/ etc).
2. Use the machine for movie making software for profit

I have 8 GBs on my M1 MacBook Air. I can have the following programs open, at once, without slowdowns:

- Microsoft Word
- Scrivener
- Parallels (With Microsoft Windows 11 ARM) using a specific plug in for Microsoft Excel for Windows
- Dolphin (A Nintendo Wii emulator) playing a round of Smash Brothers Brawl.
- Mail
- Safari

Without any slowdowns.
