Nope, havent installed any update since i used my OS X install disk.

Well I guess if it all is seemingly working then "if it ain't broken....".

If you only installed the BootCamp drivers from disc without getting the online update then I'm guessing that you're running BootCamp Vsn 3.0. Possibly might be missing some additional drivers that were included in the 3.1 update.

For now, everything is working fine (you are right i am using bootcamp v3.0)
I could look into updating the drivers this afternoon, i dont think it should do anything wrong.

By the way, have you been able to change your Bootcamp HD icon? (if you have tried it).

Thanks,.

One caveat is the GPU driver included with BootCamp 3.1 seems to bring about a gradient banding issue (almost like you're running at a a lesser colour depth). If this happens it's easy to rectify by either rolling back the GPU driver to the previous driver.

Bump!

Realtek drivers from their webpage fixed sound, while BootCamp still unavailable for my 2007 iMac.

Why post ? cause it works and has good google ranking and more people are migrating their old systems to windows 7

Cheers

IMac i7 2.9, Mountain Lion, Windows 7 and no sound in Windows 7!

Have read all these previous threads, have tried uninstalling the sound drivers that windows displays, have tried looking for drivers on SL install disk but only got the cirrus ones, have downloaded the Realtek drivers for 64bit as the 32bit aren't recognised from a link posted here, STILL no sound! The other side, Mountain Lion works fine, when switch over to Windows 7 get the start up sound and that's it,

Really annoying! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Spoke Apple support this morning, very helpful. It would appear that when you upgrade to osx10.8 not all the updated drivers for Windows 7 are downloaded onto the Bootcamp CD you make as part of the process ( V 5.0). After installing Bootcamp and running all the Windows 7 updates, of which mine had 87, you need to go back into the Mac side and download all the updated driver settings in Bootcamp assistant onto the Bootcamp CD. Then log out and go back into Windows 7 and reinstall all the updates. Took about 30 minutes to do so, everything now works, camera, sounds ( which when you look at the properties comes up with the proper Cirrus drivers in the window). Apple Support were really great.

This Fixed The Audio On My iMac (Mid 2007)

After installing Windows 7 (64-Bit) via Bootcamp, I was unable to hear audio in Windows. Updating the Realtec Audio Driver, downloaded from the Realtec website fixed the issue immediately.

You can find the driver here....

RealTec Audio Drivers

Once the page loads, you will be asked to agree to their site terms. Check the box and click next....

I chose the one titled "64bits Vista, Windows7, Windows8, Windows8.1 Driver only (Executable file)", saved it to my desktop and ran it. Choose whichever one coincides with your OS. After installation, you will be prompted to reboot. You should hear the Windows Logoff Chime during the shutdown. Upon reboot, you should have working audio. (Perform brief seated happy dance)

Hope this info helped. :)

You can install Windows 10 for better driver support.

You should try harder.
I installed Windows 10 successfully to my Mac Pro 2006, which is 2 years older than your iMac.
Well, from what my dad said, it was made in 2004 and the components and CPU can't handle downloading Windows 10, I tried downloading windows 10 on there, but it only kept crashing the iMac.

I found the issue!
Windows 7 thinks the builtin speakers are some weird unknown driver and i need a external speaker for it to work.
