Here's my iMac 20" and the Cinema HD 23" display. This is only a temporary arrangement until my office construction is completed-- then I'll have them side by side instead of one higher. I use the 23" as my main display.

I have the strangest mousing problem, however. Remind me to tell you about it in another thread. ;)

Anybody have a pic of a 20" imac next to a 20" Cinema Display?

Anybody out there have a pic of a 20" iMac sitting next to a 20" Cinema Display. I would like to see the height difference, so please post if you got one. It would also help if they are both sitting on the same surface.

Thanks.

Just wait till the new Powermac Intel replacements arrive and hook up a dual monitor setup to that. At least it'd work better, as you'd have two identical monitors and at the same height.

The screens on the new iMacs are supposedly different than the ones in the ACD's, so they wouldn't match up exactly I'm guessing.

Can anybody corroborate this?

I use a Dell 2005 FPW here. Great display (same panel as the 20" Apple Cinema btw). Does not look as clean and neat as the Apple one, but you can adjust the height. Mine goes from 10.5" up to 20.5" (bottom of the viewable screen) so it should do well with any iMac. I use it a lot in portrait mode (turned 90°) for surfing and programming (no scroll bars :p ).

Oh yea, does the display rotation work fine on OSX? I'm thinking of buying an 20" iMac and an Macbook and want to hook them up to my Dell screen.

Agree...people have sent their iMacs in for repair with it enabled and nothing happened....I mean why should anything happen you are just using your machine to its full potential.

I'm doing it, it works flawlessly and I almost see that I have a right to hack the firmware since I got mine two weeks before the new once were announced. They had it enabled and it was DVI

(No one thought it was the iMac going Intel)

I've read that the hack does spin up the fans a little. Can you confirm....?
