Hey,

I ordered a CTO 20" imac from the UK Apple store on the 1st of July, and was told that the estimated shipping date would be the 5th, and that I should recieve it by the 8th. When I checked this morning though, the estimated shipping dates gone up to the 14th of July...Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone have any idea why my imacs being delayed?

Cheers Guys! :)

Happened to me as well, I bought i on the 30th June over the phone with an estimated shipping date of the 4th July to be received by the 6th.

On the 4th they changed their minds, it was to be shipped by the 7th and received by the 18th! I called them up asking what they were playing at and they said they'd "prioritise" my order, later that day the dates changed again to be shipped by the 6th to be received by the 14th.

The latest is it shipped yesterday(5th) and when I called today they said it was on its way to England from Cork,Ireland. Estimated delivery time anywhere from the 7th to the 14th, thats 6 working days yet it'll be in England by now.

This is shocking from what I thought would be a company with a very good customer service and as this is my 1st purchase from apple I wont be in a hurry to do it again.

*Bell ringing* July the 14th is Conroe's release date... but surely... it can't be!

But if it is gonna be released on July 14 apple would not have time to make new imacs if it was just released:confused:

i hope your right. and their will be an update. puckhead needs a good birthday present

Cheers for the replies guys!

Yeah, I was kinda hoping that there may be a possibility of an imac upgrade, and that is the reason for my imac's delay!

Knowing my luck though, they'll have just run out of RAM or something, and I'll end up not having an upgrade! :(

I'm sure we'll find out soon enough though! :D

Well if its already shipped, then the chances that the delay is due to an upgrade is slim.

But mine hasnt shipped yet, and is not going to until the 14th (According to Apple store anyway)...I'm just thinking that its quite a long wait, 14 days, for there to be no reason for the delay

Wait a second. By ship date, do you mean arrive at your house or Apple's dispatch date. I'm pretty sure its the latter.

Yeh sorry I meant Apple dispatch date is the 14th, its not meant to arrive in my house until the 18th

Thats all very well for you guys but that means theres still no reason as to why mine is being delayed. They said in their email it was due to high demand of that item, hmm a 17" imac and logic express, dont they stock high volumes of their standard products?

Ok the latest update is, my order is now due to arrive today according to the online shipping status. Yet when I called Apple's helpline to check who the courier is they said that my Logic Express was not yet in the country and it needed to merge with my mac before delivery. Then saying that it should merge within the next 24/48hrs and should then be allocated to a courier. Once all this has happened they'll have a better idea of how long it will take estimating the 13th/14th.

The carrier details have been updated twice today but still not with either ups or tnt and I was advised by Apple it would be one of those to deliver it. And as one final word Apple told me to keep on checking the website for updates....

rudy, was the imac you ordered their standard spec, or did you customise it by adding more RAM etc?

I remember when I ordered my mini last year (it was their standard spec, no extras), but I also ordered MS Office for Mac, and my order took quite a while to be delivered because they were out of copies of Office! On your order status, you should see "Shipping Options" which will probably say "Items will be shipped when all items are available.", which would mean that eventhough your iMac had been dispatched, there could still be delays, depending on whether they have Logic Express in stock...

Also, I'm pretty sure that software and macs ship from different locations for the UK store, so that could have also meant there were delays?

I could however be speaking compete rubbish :D That's ^ a bit of a guess I'm afraid!

Let us know how you get on with your order though! :)

I did upgrade the RAM to a gig, and it is apparently Logic I'm waiting on getting to the couriers. It does however specify on the apple website 2-5 days delivery time, its had 5 and is eating away at its 6th. As a new apple customer though I was under the impression they would be efficient, but regardless of when it gets here chances are the second I have it I wont care how long it took. And its still saying it will be delivered today according to their website.

The wait is always the worst part. Hang in there, and you'll be a happy puppy once it arrives. Congrats on your new mac!

I ordered my iMac (20" - 256mb graphics - 1gb single chip ram) on the 4th July and for the next 3 days it had shipped as 7th July, arrive 11th July.

Check this morning and it is ship 18th July, arrive 27th July!!!!!!!!

Whaddyareckon?????

Only non-standard is the ram and graphics card. Quite a jump in terms of the ship date.

Update coming????

I"m seriously hoping we get some sort of update! Also ordered a 20"imac with maxed out RAM, graphics, and HDD, and I also had a massive jump in my dispatch time (as you can see in the posts above). I cant see any other real reason as to why there would be such a delay to be honest...but I'm trying not to get my hopes up...too much :D

I'm from the UK, so maybe it is a UK thing?

Anyway - like usual, we'll just have to wait and see.

Cheers
