I'm from the UK, so maybe it is a UK thing?

Anyway - like usual, we'll just have to wait and see.

Mac the knife lives in Kansas and has their delivery delayed, this is looking more and more like an upgrade to me.

Well, Mine has shipped now. estimated to get to me on the 12th. Strange. May not be upgrades.

I think that is what I would do at this point. Call up Apple and say where the heck is the iMac that I paid for? (asking politely of course). :)

Definately call them up, when I called them they said they'd prioritise my order which shaved 4 days off the estimated delivery date. Still waiting its now 11.50, UPS cant give me any more info than it should be here by 7pm. great

Well I gave them a ring, the woman on the phone said she couldnt really tell me much, I asked her if there was any reason for the delay and she said she couldnt really say

Apparently she's e-mailed the people who are responsible for assembling the computers asking the reason for the delay, and that she'll give me an e-mail when she knows something! Heres hoping it'll be dispatched some time this week

My MacBook is taking aaages to ship. I ordered it a week ago (Monday 3rd July) and it was ment to ship on Friday 7th, but its now Monday 10th and it still aint shipped

It's here! It arrived about an hour or so ago, have only had a few minutes to tinker as I'm at work, seems to be everything I've dreamed of and more. It's worth the wait but I still wish I hadnt had to wait so damn long. Good luck guys it is eventually worth it, now how do you use a mac?

Hi Rudy

How did you track this, I can see the applestore.bridgepoint page and see the tracking number, but it ain't too helpful.

Cheers

If you've logged into your account from the apple store then you'll see the tracking options. However until your order is with UPS or TNT the tracking number is usless. I tried a million places with the number they give from the shipping company but they were crap. Even when I phoned apple they seemed to know very little more than the website tells you, as previously stated their customer service was crap.

All you can do is sit there and pray, it does become an unhealthy addiction sitting at the window waiting for a delivery van. It did come before the estimated date, however that will change once its with a courier and be more accurate. Its usually from what I've heard the next working day once UPS has it but that could be 2 or 3 days and it sucks waiting over the weekend for the next working day.

Hi Rudy

Yep, UPS just shown up on the tracking page. iMac left Holland yesterday and due to be delivered tomorrow.

Cheers

Ok I bought this mac to record my music on as I'm gonna be doing a music course in the fall. I plugged my guitar into my out of the box ready imac and.... nothing. After sodding around with the sound prefs for ages I opened up logic and mucked around with some settings in there. Finally after an hours worth of messing and reading manuals I could get some sound. However, the sound was delayed by a very noticable fraction of a second, so noticable I couldnt continue to play. So I went on a hunt for a "usb audio interface", spending a further £65 on a firewire one from my "local" music store I await to test this.

Thought it was worth mentioning as I bought this mac with the sole intention of recording music which I thought kinda obvious considering I bought it with logic express. Yet they failed to mention it would not quite go to plan, oh well hopefully it'll work now.

To summarise all my posts I think Apple need to try a little harder considering the amount of money they make you part with.

Couldn't agree with you more rudy! I'm really starting to get annoyed at apple now, you know my imac still hasn't shipped, and I ordered the damn thing on the 1st of July  Phoning them up did no good, because all they could tell me was 'they may be waiting for some hardware parts, because your machine was CTO'

I think its pretty bad that my order STILL hasnt shipped, especially since it was meant to ship on the 5th of July

Sometimes they respond a little better if you threaten to cancel your order and go to your "local" apple store. As they have this competition thing going on against the physical stores they want to keep their online sales. It might not do anything but it's sometimes worth a try, just drop it in conversation.

Really Not Amused

I swear to God, Apple is taking the p**s with my iMac order now! First of all, it was meant to be dispatched from apple on the 5th of July, that changed to the 14th. I've just checked my order status, and its now gone up to the 18th of July before the damn thing is dispatched?!

I mean come on seriously, I ordered this thing on the 1st of July, and the way things are going I probably wont get it until the end of the month!!

After spending £1500 ($2,757.46) on an iMac, I would have expected better service, instead of the date just going up and up, with no explaination from apple, apart from 'theres a parts availability issue'. I even phoned apple up this morning, asking if my iMac was going to be dispatched today, which I was assured that I would recieve a dispatch notification today.

So I just dont know what to do now..I mean I dont want to cancel my order, because if I cancel and re-order it'll just take longer again

Do you think phoning Apple, and informing them that I am not amused at how my order has been delayed would make any difference? Possibly they'd compensate me somehow for having to wait 3 weeks for a computer that I was told had a build time of 1-3 days?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

By the way, the spec of the machine is

20" iMac
2Gb RAM
500GB HD
256MB Graphics
