Long time PC user ordered a 24" 8800 imac may 10th.. it took 2 weeks to get here to Boston (god knows why).. When I finally got it up and running it had over 20 dead pixels. I called support and they agreed to exchange it.
Whoever was supposed to email me the shipping lable forgot and I had to call a week later to get the return lable.
Shipped it back to them and got my replacement on the 11th while I was on vacation. I came back last night and openned it up.
It has 3 bright green stuck pixels right in the midlle of the screen making it virtually unuseable for anything with a dark background. I tried to fix them but it didnt work.
I made an appointment with a genius at the apple store for tomorrow.
This has taken so much of my time and has been a really depressing ordeal. Why is it when I finally decide to speand $2k and buy myself a treat that it has to be so much fn trouble. If this is not fixed for me after tomorrow then I am giving up on apple. Not a good experience at all - its been over a month and still no useable imac!
