Sorry for your misfortune.

I'm sure they'll replace it and it'll be fine. It's very rare to have these kinds of issues, but once it's up and running you will really enjoy it. :apple:

PowerPC Macs were better. Intel was the turn for the worst for the Mac.

I am sorry for your troubles. I hope you get it fixed. :)

i agree x12010912 more people bought since intel came out so they need to make more which makes the parts more cheaper since they have to make so much more

....these kinds of things happens with these screens at times and it just depends....hmmm "hopefully" this screen comes out good. i think that every time i switch a mac. thats all you can do is stick your fingers in a dike and pray....anyone know what movie thats off??:D

nah im fine with it.. dead pixels arent really bothersome unless theres a ton like the first one i had.. so im just gonna move forward with what i have now and start to install the software ive been waiting over a month now to use.

Are you kidding me?? Don't dare dude! Take it back. When you pay 2k for something it should be perfect, dude remember you will probably have this for awhile.

Wow. Out of 15 years of owning laptops/monitors, I have only had one that had a stuck pixel (IBM Thinkpad). I massaged the screen with my finger and it was gone. Then I hear stories like this and I wonder how is it even possible?

Believe me its very possible. My first 3.06 iMac looked great until I set the background to solid black. It revealed over a hundred stuck pixels. I've had many LCD devices and this was the first that I purchased that had any faults on the screen.

I called Apple and 8 days later had the replacement. No problems with it at all.

You should try to open up the glass and wipe the screen. I managed to remove what I thought was 3-4 dead pixels doing that. There are vids on youtube with instructions on how to remove the glass.

Once my warranty is up I might try this.

There's one speck in the lower right hand corner that I think is a dead pixel but it kind of "shifts" when I change my viewing angle, like if you had sneezed on the screen or something.

I would give up on Apple. The less switchers the better. BTW I got a 24" imac in Oct and it's been perfect, so I guess I'll be doing the opposite of giving up on Apple.
