Do you really need 8GB or RAM? And I certainly hope you're not paying for it from Apple.

It seems like Apple is actually priced in line with what online retailers like newegg are charging for RAM. I saw RAM for about $210-ish at NE and Apple is charging $200.

What? An extra 4GB of RAM (extra 2x2GB just like Apple) is around $100.

I reckon im gonna wait for some benchmarks before i decide where to go from where. Thanks for all the nice feedback though.
God i wish Apple would increase the backside of the iMac and just put a monster of a GPU card in there :<

I ordered the 21.5" i5 8g of RAM and the 5670. I'll make sure to revisit this thread tomorrow when it gets to my door (if I get of WoW) =)

Just curious, why did you need so much ram? I reckon i won`t use more then 4gb when gaming and having apps running in the background?

I write music for commercials and movies using Reason and Protools so when I'm using some of the sounds in Reason it hogs the CPU, as well as recording in ProTools- totally gaming and app unrelated.
