Agreed. If the OP approached apple as “I bought this 3 months ago and noticed this. Retailer won’t help. Can you help with a solution”

they may get a sympathetic ear and some good customer service.

If OP goes in aggressively with accusations they’re just gonna (rightfully) defend their position and not offer the goodwill OP needs
A court will decide that.

This happened to me, (weirdly enough, in Brisbane) but with an ant. It was years after purchase and not there from manufacture; bugs can sometimes make their way inside, in front of the display but behind the glass.

Apple fixed it for free, out of warranty, without AppleCare.
Sometimes it pays to be nice and ask. I would rather have Apple do that kind of work, than put trust in some kid at Best Buy or some other retailer.

Take it to an Apple store, they can quickly remove the screen and take the bug out.

Ask the bug to go to the other side of the screen to help reduce the tilt.
That's actually not a bad idea. Maybe turn off the iMac and then see if you can guide the bug to offscreen using a flashlight, or wafting in a fresh fruit scent so he goes for the bait.

Better than sitting here and moaning about how your now useless iMac ( :D I cracked up when the OP posted that) has ruined your life and you want to go full Karen on Apple.

I’m glad you cracked up. Made my night.

Could you put a vacuum to the ports and hope to suck the bug out? There has to be an access point for it to get inside there.

Might be easier when it dies - it won’t last long without a food source in there.

Hi,

latest iMac 27” and has it for about 3/4 months. Didn’t buy it direct from Apple. It literally has a bug underneath the screen. God knows how it’s got there as it’s in my bedroom and has been from day 1. Called the place I bought it and they are refusing to refund. I’ve told them that it’s only a few months old and legally under 6 months, the onus is on them to prove it wasn’t faulty from day 1. Also told them that I’m led to believe that the iMac screen is fused together from the factory so it must have been there or an egg there when it was made.
What can I do??

It's trapped. You gotta smash that screen or it'll die. C'mon man.
