That is completely false.

The ONLY ways altering your iMac can void the warranty is if you damage something in the process or you alter a "warranty void if removed" sticker. The only item with one of those stickers is the CPU.

Simply replacing the hard drive or optical drive will not in any way affect your warranty.

Yep that is the way it works. Obviously Apple won't cover the X-25 drive if something happens to it since they didn't sell it to you. But if you put the SSD in and the GPU goes bad, unless you damaged the GPU while putting the SSD in, there should be no issues about the warranty on the GPU if it is still within the time period.

Although if i were to try I WOULD damage something certainly, so for me it would void my warranty :p
