You're mirroring your iMac display to the HDTV, right? Then whatever aspect ratio your iMac is at is the aspect ratio that your mirrored display will be. Darn, eh? Can you span your display across both the iMac screen and the HDTV?

Spanned. Same problem. And I can't force the TV to scale down the image.

Try "Save As source..." instead? Although "Save As QuickTime Movie..." should work, unless the movie is streamed-only, such as Steve's keynotes.

I'm trying with the quicktime movie trailers. Save as source gives the same result. Strange.

Hi srobert, glad you received your iMac!

I was just going to point you to SwitchResX aswell.

Btw. what is the "stretched" and non-stretched option with 1024x768 ie.?
What does it do?

I ask because I have a Plasma with 1024x768 resolution, and usually the picture is streched. Maybe I can avoid that, would be great!

PS: Just recieved an E-mail delaying my iMac 20" delivery to February 13th!!
This is the worst news ever....

Sorry to hear about your delay.

I haven't been able to run SwitchResX yet. Maybe I'll need a universal binaries version?

I'll try more stuff when I get back from work.
