I have the same Manufacture/Model #s and manufacture date. What does knowing that info suggest? That the entire batch with those Manufacture/Model #s and manufacture date could be faulty? I think I may see a slight yellow tint in mine too, but I wonder if I'm being made more suspicious by this thread or if I really do see it.

Maybe the screens look worse in person, because the pictures just show slightly uneven backlighting. I just did the grey bar test on the Sony LCD monitor I'm using now and had the same results. It's slightly brighter on the bottom.

Attached is one of the issues my screen is having. It shows some yellow tint also, however I have been seeing solid horizontal bars. This image is high-contrast to better see the effect.

This is NOT backlight leak. Some people (especially those who are trained to, like graphic designers) can see colour inconsistencies better than others, but I've moved the bottom bar to the bottom of the pictures so far to show the difference. The intensity is the same, and when you desaturate the images, the screens look perfect, the problem is definitely colour, not intensity (backlight inconsistency).

You will have to put me down as being colorblind. I see a slight difference in the gray, but it doesn't come through as a yellow tint. But then again- maybe my monitor isn't calibrated. I'm also looking at an image of an image of an image.

I can't seem to get a really good picture of what my screen looks like (the best I can seem to do is below)...but the yellowing is generally like the other pictures posted here (seems to mostly look like slicecom's). I've got an advance replacement on its way from Apple but I suspect it'll be several weeks before it ships. Good thread!

I have my i7 on the way. I would deffinetely want nothing but a perfect product whether I get it first time round or not.

Can notice the difference when the two bars are pulled together for sure.

This is exactly what my 3 yellow 21.5" imacs have looked like next to my 27.. I'm glad I read these forums and saw it was an issue rather than just living with the frustration of looking at one color white and moving to another color white on my next screen. I'm gonna return for money this time. This is not the ultimate display and I've spent way more time on this issue than I should have. I love my previous apple products and the service support has been great up until this topic. One supervisor made me think she was gonna call me back the next day about what I should do.. Its been 10 days now.. I support and promote Apple more than most users.. I have had $1200 imac sitting in a box for 10 days now.. I wanted a sweet color calibrated work station.. not a box sitting in my living room.

How does one account for the light gray bars in EVERY photo (the bars on the left side of the screen) being considerably darker at their outside (left) extremity than towards the center of the screen?

The difference in tone between the left and right sides of each lighter horizontal bar is at LEAST as great as the difference between the top and bottom bars.

Unless you agree that the clear gradation across each horizontal light gray bar is a true and accurate depiction of each individual bar in the photo, none of the photos in this thread is of any value at all.

Look at just the upper left light gray bar. Look at the left extremity of it and then the right. They are entirely different tones, as clearly different as any comparison with top and bottom bars.
