iMac overnight - sleep? will maintenace scripts run? turning off display?

For more information about what gets done by the periodic maintenance tasks, start the Terminal application and type "man periodic".

With the sudo and periodic commands, you can run any of the three scripts yourself.

OPTION(alt) - COMMAND - EJECT = Sleep Mode (whole machine)
SHIFT - CONTROL - EJECT = Sleep Mode just for the display


Depending on having something run that i want to continue I just put the screen to sleep, otherwise the whole machine.

Surely I'm not the only one to notice that this thread was first created in 2007... then revived somehow 2 years later... to only be revived over 1 year later...

I expect this thread to die then revive half a year later.
